Well they are both more intelligent than Walz by a lot.
Trump doesn't speak well because he struggles staying on topic and goes back and forth. That makes him look less intelligent.
However when his opponents go on the attack mode, Trump and his counterpunches are second to none. He knows how to get under the skin of his opponents and make them look foolish.
