Like I said. You haven’t kept up with the news. 2 were fired for giving interviews without permission. (Something that would get you fired from any company in the country). One was fired for threatening superiors.
You ignorant moron.

They are aboard a huge ship.
It is not like they got sent to the space station for what was suppose to be for a few days and instead it turned out to be 9 months.

It's always "ladyboys" said by a fat guy in the South sitting on his couch, with a dumpy-looking, nagging wife, and a $900 per month truck note .
As an American guy myself living in Thailand, I can tell you that the women here (yes, bilogical women- born female) are stunningly beautiful.. they also take care of themselves, and most age extremely well...... All that said, yeah it's never a bad idea to do an adams apple check, and a package check- just to be safe . ..

The ship should a sex ed discussion with all troops prior to arrival.. There are a lot of hookers in Thailand that look pretty but pee standing up. Surprise could lead to violence
You're not wrong.. but the overwhelming majority are actual, biological women .... My concern is more about the condom situation .. here in Southeast Asia it's extremely difficult to find condoms that fit me (#humblebrag).... Seriously though, it isnt a flex bc/ it's nothing to do wth me personally, just that most Western guys (at least speaking only for myself) tend to be more well-endowed than most Asian guys .. at least im guessing that's the case, b/c I cant find condoms here that work.. I usually bring from home, or order on Amazon.. I cant imagine that the Lincoln has tens of thousands of condoms to hand out, so I predict it's gonna be a problem, and the number of STDs will be no joke .. still, I hope they all have fun .

The one Navy mother claims her kids have serious behavior issues.
Anyone associated with the military knows, every Navy dependent has serious behavior issues.

$900 truck note? Is he in a 8 year used F150? Most of these guys are in $1500-1800

Oh shite.. guess I been gone too long from America... here I mostly take the Skytrain or a cheap Uber ride get where im going.. or I walk, to the tune of about 13k or 14k steps per day lately .
Hell, my first mortgage note in La in like 2009 wasn't much more than an $1800 truck note today .

I dont call that homesick. I call it fatigued. And it would happen to every one of us.
They live on a floating city. Now look at an infantry unit during the first year of a war.
I'm not ragging on them, but damn. During the first years of OIF a standard Army rotation was 12 months and the conditions were generally not even in the same universe as those aboard a carrier.

You can disagree all you want.
Duties on a ship do not stop. Ever.
All army units during WWII were given temporary reprieves. Dont pretend that "12 months" is close to the same thing.
I agree that conditions in the army are worse. But they aren't 247 for 9 months. No where close to that. This is a different level of groundhog day.

Yep my paw paw was in the Army Air Corps (Air Force) and after a certain amount of missions he was allowed 10 days of 'rest and relaxation' then would go back to the base to fly more missions. He used his to go to Rome and Cairo during WWII.

Look, I get it, that long at sea sucks. But it’s a war. We simply can’t move our most valuable assets out of the fight because crews are tired and homesick.
Personally I think the US Navy should stop building huge super carriers. Instead of having 10-11 massive ships, half of which are in maintenance at any one time, we should be building 20-30 smaller aircraft carriers. Not only does this allow more flexibility for deployment cycles, it makes the ship itself less valuable. Meaning that the loss of one isn’t such a huge blow to our capabilities. Which would allow us to be able to put the carriers at more risk and get them closer to the fight. As it stands now we simply can’t put a carrier in major harms way because the loss of one would severely diminish our capabilities. Not to mention the several hundred billion it costs to make one and the 5000 crew members that would be lost.

Im in my mid 40s.. divorced in the US, no kids .. still working, mostly remote, consulting .. got priced out of America; literally couldn't afford to be American anymore.. was making pretty good money, but everything was getting eaten up by the psychotic cost of living .. I didnt have enough as id like left over to save and invest. .. made the move a couple years ago.. here, my American dollars go 5-10x further .. food is healthy and affordable .. I walk a ton so ive dropped some weight without even trying .. had to go to the hospital once for X-rays.. went to the ER, place was like a four star hotel, saw two docs, had X-rays and prescriptions for pain .. paid out of pocket, $65 usd for everything .. also if you're a red blooded American guy who's older but not yet dead, and still have a healthy libido- the women here will treat you right .. just avoid the bargirls and massage chicks (and ladyboys).. plenty of normal business women, schoolteachers, nurses etc looking for a foreign guy .
Just like my ancestors went from the old country to the US in search of a better life- the new American dream, is to leave America .
