I worked with a guy that went to Thailand by himself... We were all saying the same thing... The guy was suspect and was a nutcase.. Of course he is a liberal...

They are basically on-call working for 6480 hours straight.

I dont call that homesick. I call it fatigued. And it would happen to every one of us.

I know everyone is deficit sensitive. But we seriously need some frigates. And we probably could use another aircraft carrier or two to manage this big planet.

For every ship in action, you need 2 more. One in dry dock getting updates and one stateside for training and relieving the first ship.

If you actually ever served as an enlisted sailor on a ship, you would be singing a completely different tune

Just shut up, those sailors deserve a port visit after a long deployment.

They’re were writing their congressmen and having their mommies go on prime time TV to whine on their behalf.

I’m sure most of the crew were steadfast and did their duty but this is a shameful thing for the Navy as a whole.

Oh shut up. Thousands of other sailors have endured far worse than those guys did.
The Navy needs to have a come to Jesus moment and figure this shite out.

Oh yeah? All five thousand of the squids onboard did that? They should all be ashamed? A few sailors and some family members messed up, that's on them, not the Navy or their shipmates. It's also on the media for running with a false hardship narrative that sullied good people.

Damn, being away for a long deployment on land is difficult, being on a ship for 250 days would be a nightmare.

Well they obviously said the exact of that now didn’t I?

If you call cowardice messing up then sure, but it’s not solely on them. The US Navy had to direct one of the powerful warships in the history of the planet out of a war zone because some people “messed up.”

As a taxpayer I want to know WTF happened and how the navy is gonna fix it. Because running away because some kids were homesick is unacceptable.

The ship should a sex ed discussion with all troops prior to arrival.. There are a lot of hookers in Thailand that look pretty but pee standing up. Surprise could lead to violence

This sort of stuff gets covered before every port visit in a mandatory port brief.

To be fair, the Bahrain base getting smashed hurt the ability to supply them.
No, it fricking didn't. Jets still got gas, so sailors can still get their hot pockets.
