I agree with him. As a parent of 2 kids currently in school, I don't want them waiting for the bus in the dark.
We need to eliminate DST and just have standard time.

The whole Earth survived up until the last few hundred years with the rising and setting of the sun. Man, in his infinite wisdom (stupidity), decided he could do it better by devising an artificial system of "time".
Less so, when 95% of humanity punches a time clock.

NGL, as a father of 2 kids under 5, it getting dark earlier makes bedtime far easier in my household.

It is normal in the winter.

We should compromise and get rid of the one in the spring and keep the one in the fall that gives us the extra hour.

Personally, I am more concerned about the safety of the kiddos than about some adult's recreational pursuits.

Good. I like the clock changes.
There’s a statistically significant increase in mortality when time changes occur.

That is fine. Each of us has his own priorities. Just be honest about yours.

Same can be said to the people whining about it being dark at 4pm.
The last time change adjustment screwed it up for all, cause it really caused more of a divide over this. It woke up people to the actual difference. Should have been left alone.
I want the sun up earlier to get the day started. It still being dark right now this late into the fall is annoying to me. So even though I don't normally care for Cotton, I'm on board with him here.

And apparently the healthiest permanent change is whichever has the sun up the earliest.

Its not that fricking hard. Keep the entire country on DST and states can opt out like AZ and HI.
Posted on 10/29/25 at 7:47 am to Lt. Columbo
It called standard time for a fkn reason baw.

There’s always a guy like Tom Cotton to screw things up for everyone else. He’s the kind of guy who complains about a take home exam.

Let's fall back 30 minutes and call it a day. Everybody get what the want.
