So, this guy posits four US ships (a carrier and three support ships) against everything China can throw into the conflict, with the US using no other assets and bringing nothing else forward? In that scenario, China wins?
OK
OK

Yeah im having a hard time with that also. We would certainly fire back and not just sit on our thumbs and wait to be eliminated.

Trump would tell Xi that he can kiss that Three Gorges Damn goodbye. And Xi would not risk it because OMB.

I think the point is, they could sink, or damage one of our carriers in the hypothetical. That video is from a couple years ago and did not take the new hypersonic weapons into account.
Military today
I have to wonder why all the bluster from China, over this?
China Government Official
With all this talking shite and moving serious assets around, including our Carrier battle group, there has got to be more to this than some concern over an old, drunk, 82-year-old POS, House Speaker going over to visit.
All things considered; something does not add up.

Everyone is forgetting, that in our Carrier groups, we have the most technological advances Subs in the world. China's navy ships would be taken out fast. The Carrier groups, besides have Destroyers, also have CG's which normally lead in front of the carrier. I'm a Plankowner of CG-73 USS Port Royal and my ship could fight land, other ships, planes and subs at the same time. The United States Navy is by far the most potent Navy this world has ever seen.

I would worry about what's under the water.

Not even any submarines.

It's always amusing when people on here try to argue that aircraft carriers are obsolete. They're not by any stretch of the imagination. Reports of their death are greatly exaggerated.

Of course this is the worst outcome possible for the foible-prone US. And to think we sat on our asses all these years and let three countries, Iran, China and Russia develop an undefeatable array of weapons just shows what "dumbasses" we are over here. Everybody, bend over and kiss your "asses" goodbye. It's over!
And given he was there for four years as this happened, I blame Trump for 75% of this.
Sorry to bump but you guys didn't get it at all. I guess because I mentioned Trump. Nobody gonna beat the US. Go Merica! Iran, give me a break. But we and Israel are gonna have to get Iran before they get too many ideas from this type of shat.

If China and the USA go to war, it will be the end of the world as we know it....the global economic system will crash so hard, that it will maybe never recover.
The fight for food, water, medical supplies, etc. will ensue....it will be biblical.

China is going to go to war with some country. A country we like. So get that into your head. It's going to happen. The old days are gone. China has to do it soon though. Because long term, things look grim for China.
Why do you think we are letting Ukraine fight our proxy war with Russia. The US is going to have to defeat these countries.

Phalanx guns are effective, but IIRC they can only do 3 minutes of continuous firing before their barrels melt.

Well it’s a good thing we have 3 other aircraft carriers and their escorts in Japanese water at this very moment. So in other words those ships of china’s in Japanese waters would never arrive for support. On top of having military bases in South Korea, Japan, and if it hasn’t tipped over Guam. On top of that we have military presence in Thailand, Philippines, and Singapore.
It’s very easy to look up. The writer of the article did zero research

I'm sure it couldn't be a clumsy, ham-handed effort to make ol' Nance look like she's not bought and paid for by the ChiComs. "Look everyone! She just couldn't be on the take! The Chinese threatened to kill her!"
Marty McFly's scheme to get his father, George, look like a hero was less obvious than this scam.

If you'd spend some time away from here and on other sites, you'd know the Chinese are going to invade Taiwan sooner than you'd like.

US Navy ships also have other self defenses on board. I know of 1 item that was already being implemented and tested in the 90's but I've never once seen it mentioned nor admitted too but the Seawhiz is old school compared to what I've seen.
