Just heard on Fox that Navy vessels are in the area. Ridiculous that we’re not getting clear information from the Regime. This is a complete shitshow by Brandon.

And China will be our navy to get there.

If China ventures into our waters that would be an act of war
What about a balloon surveilling our nuclear bases and collecting intel?

a weather research balloon?
The administration and military is claiming they know it was data collection and they had it all under control. So why ever shoot it down?

To all US enemies:
You can fly your spy planes or balloons, especially enemies who have me compromised, over the USA to gather the information you need. The US, in return, will shoot it down once your plane or balloon is off the countries coast.
Please be advised the only reason we shoot them down is to allow US leadership to save face and tell the American people we will shoot anything down, that is uninvited, that enters our airspace.
C'mon man, I have a SOTU to deliver soon.

This is what happens when our military is run by the woke generation. There was a time when we were feared and respected. Now, we are laughed at. This truly is pathetic.
Military is run by Boomers that are pandering to the woke crowd

I don’t doubt a report regarding any level of incompetence by our government including its military leadership, but there is no reference named in the article that cites the US fearing that China may be coming to the debris, not even an unnamed Pentagon source. It does identify a source (unnamed) that says we are 3 days out reaching wreckage with recovery ships, 6 miles off the SC coast. That in and of itself shows we are some kind of F’d up as a nation.

I saw a report that DoD jammed all communications capability while it was going over CONUS. So they admit it was communicating intel back to China.

I'd like to know why the govt let it sweep all across the country potentially collecting data and snooping on civilian and military installations or infrastructure before shooting it down.
They got the data they wanted, then you decide to shoot it down after it has collected what it wanted.

How would it even be possible for them to find it before the US Navy does?
The Navy would have to have orders to retrieve said ballon.
Under a normal CINC scenario, one would be on alert to launch once said shoot down happened. But these are different times.
Joe Biden is on China's payroll.

Waiting on a Navy vessel? We have a Coast Guard. Maybe somebody should wake Joe up and tell him about it.

This has turned into the Gordian Balloon Knot.

Brandon is incompetent, but China isn’t getting to this wreckage.
What are you talking about, Baw?
China has infiltrated every aspect of America. Why, I bet they have some Chinabaws in the Navy and Coastguard ready to pounce on that wreckage and send it back to the CCP.

Maybe it was not collecting information?
Maybe it was slowly releasing something?

And the Story with link to the Daily Mail:
quote:
The Daily Mail reported:
Concerns have grown that China may reach the wreckage of their downed spy balloon before the US Navy as a salvage vessel won’t be on the scene for days.
US officials confirmed that an F-22 Raptor fighter jet shot down the balloon with a single AIM-9X sidewinder missile at 2.38pm on Saturday, six miles off the coast of South Carolina.
A senior military advisor told Fox News that the debris field was about seven-miles wide, with the depth of the waters estimated at 47 feet.
While multiple Navy and Coast Guard vessels are in the area establishing a security and search perimeter, the senior advisor said an official salvage vessel won’t arrive until a couple of days.

So after reading the Gateway Pundit article, they don't site anyone in the military stating that they were afraid that China was going to get there first. It just says a senior military official gave information about the salvage are being 7 miles wide. Anyway, the US littoral territory extends about 12 miles out, and the balloon hit the water about 6 miles of the S. Carolina coast. Although Right of Salvage laws are applicable here, we can legally prevent any Chinese ships from getting close.
