Tough spot for Johnson and Repubs, they will get blamed if things shut down and folks dont get paychecks. With Election coming up, they had to avoid the bad press. And most folks don't care about the spending bill. Yes we know it is wrong, we know they put our tax dollars to crap things but passing the bill will not change a vote.

Just like Trump, we need to play for the long game, the election. Trump needs to change tune to pick up the undecided voter and those that just don't like him so might not vote for him. Just like rocky 2 was it, start righty and then switch to southpaw at the end to finish them off. We need Trump in office and need to keep control of House or take Senate.

I’d be happy if the only spent the amount of tax receipts they get. Currently they’re spending future generations money they have yet to rob

In FY 2024, the federal government spent $6.75 trillion and collected a record-$4.92 trillion in revenue,

The only way to control this is through spending controls

Indeed

The fiscal expenses should be equal to or lower than the prior year receivable.

Politicians would be required to fight over a limited expense allowance.

Republicans have to learn how to fricking negotiate. I get that they wont get everything they want but where is the win here?. But look at this article (ALERT its CNN).

CNN

Here is the reoccurring line on each item:

Education
quote:

The amount is $22 billion more than House Republicans proposed,

Financial services and general government
quote:

$1 billion more than House Republicans had wanted to provide.

Labor
quote:

The amount is nearly $5 billion more than House Republicans proposed

Health and Human Services
quote:

That would be $14 billion more than House Republicans proposed

He inherited it last time and unfortunately did nothing

I really wish he was more fiscally conservative but is not that guy. He understands the cost of things but he tends to like to spend nonetheless

The people at the levers of power in DC have accepted the notion the only way to deal with the national debt is through increased inflation ......inflate the $36 trillion of debt away by debasing the currency.

2019 is a blueprint for what Trump will do. He will keep kicking the can down the road with deficits, pressuring the fed for lower rates, and using every trick in the book to make the economy look good.

Thats the problem with "our democracy" it rewards bad economics under the guise of populism

For every dollar in new spending there should be two dollars in cuts.

in new spending there should be two dollars in cuts.

It may become necessary because none of our human representatives have the willpower to say no.
