If only the people who control the purse would do their job and correct this. Hmm

Oh, it is manufactured alright. Manufactured by our government and the bankers since 1913 on an island off the South Carolina coast to steal the wealth of hardworking Americans.

I remember back when President Trump claimed that he would eliminate the entire date in 8 years. Those were the days.

The solution that worked - When Clinton raised taxes during a booming economy, and the Republican Congress cut federal spending. Whatever you think of the politics, the combination worked: we eventually ran four consecutive budget surpluses and actually reduced publicly held federal debt. Then Bush came in with major tax cuts while simultaneously increasing spending after 9/11 by launching wars (we are still fighting). Since then, neither party has restored anything resembling fiscal discipline. In 25 years, gross federal debt has gone from $4 trillion to $40 trillion.

This is coming from someone that has always lived a life of spending and not having to worry about budgeting.

I was hoping he would do something about this debt but I guess not.

Now interest to service the debt is the biggest single budget expense

We will print money and borrow money to pay interest and it will balloon.

You just think you’ve seen inflation. Wait until a burger is the price of a steak today, or a 20 dollar candy bar. It’s coming

Who cares. They will never stop deficit spending. And the dollar will eventually collapse and the US has the unity of a Latin American country. Should be apocalyptic.
