I still can't wrap my head around a grown-*ss man whining about something as insignificant as a jersey number.
If I was in control at LSU, every number from 0 to 99 would be available every year. If the Canon, Burrow, and Daniels families were to have a problem with it, then I'd tell them to deal with it.
As for JD, he's shown himself to be an arrogant, conceited, pompous, and extremely self-absorbed individual. His hubris is... well, profound.
He deserves all the criticism he's receiving.

Jayden should take hold and simply apologize. Before it does serious and irreparable damage to his life. A true admission from a real leader, that he is flawed just like all of us, and delivered with that big smile. Up goes his personal stock across the board. Just what our times call for.

......and his number has not been retired. In fact no number at Notre Dame has been retired. You play for ND, you get to use THEIR jersey. When you leave or graduate, that number is given to another player. It's not the player's number, it's Notre Dame's number. Also historically Notre Dame did not put names on the jerseys.
