Yet Powell will hold rates steady

And inflation is still higher than we want it to be. I’m not sure what Powell should d with rates, but it’s not obvious that he should lower them.

I get a 3% cost of living increase every year so inflation coming in below 3% makes me happy.

Hate to break to Mr. Daughtery, no one has any idea what is going to happen with energy prices in future now that Iran has the influence that it has on the Strait.

lower than expected. Inflation is still over 2%. Inflation rates were below 2% when interest rates were low in the 2010s.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.9%, the largest increase since June 2022, following a 0.3% gain in February.

What would happen to inflation if rates were cut, Governor stout?

Inflation under 3% and unemployment in the 4’s is pretty good historically. You do remember when inflation was in the double digits the last time a Dem was in the White House right? And the only reason job numbers weren’t total shite then is because they kept adding federal jobs that have since been eliminated.

This is all short term. Iran will have no influence on the Strait when this settles out. Once they have a settled government again - regardless of whether it is Islamist, secular or mixed - all the Gulf States need to do to open the Strait is to threaten to take out Iran’s oil fields. They have the same threat to make to Iran as Iran has to make to them.

Prices aren't inflation, they are a result of inflation, and are non-linear.

It baffles me that some people don't understand this, even though they see it every single day of their lives.

Unless we're talking about commodities or a few other very specific goods, prices never come down. But inflation does.

Trump is making inflation go up to distract from Epstein.

He probably should raise rates until inflation is consistently lower than the Fed's target rate of 2%.

Thought that choade Powell was supposed to be termed out? Cannot happen soon enough. Between he and Thune, the Dims don’t need to spend any of their energy undermining Trump.

It’s amazing ppl believe media sources. Instead what does your spending tell you is happening. Cost of goods, car and home prices…

CNN and FOX will report total opposites.
