Nope as far as I know he wouldn't commit to allowing either 1 or 5 members to call for a new vote for speaker in the event he were to back out of his promises.

Like I have been saying. The Anti-McCarthy group has never put up a real alternate candidate. There has been no other candidate who has said they wanted the job and has campaigned for it. All they have been is the anti-McCarthy group and that is not enough. You needed to give people an alternate selection and they failed to deliver.
