Doge faced constant headwinds. Let that sink in. Clearly, a large contingent of politicians do not care about the deficit.
DOGE was mostly about Elon stealing government information and axing USAID because that was a tinfoil hat thing white South Africans are pissy about

DOGE was brought up in the first post. The OP. And I'm not on topic?
Seriously? Drop the bullshite.
You talk alot but don't say much.
Your problem with me talking about DOGE? You're trying to be all conniving and slick and it comes off looking bad. You seem like you're dodging. As usual.
Man you must be real thrilled with all the criminals in your party coming to light lately..
Holy shite, everybody in your party has a scam going on. I just hope people rightfully go to prison for a very long time.
Remember, nobody is above the law right?

It boggles the mind how you could be so obtuse to think that he actively supports democrat politicians are that it is "his party"

quote:Trump's only legislative initiative, (OBBA) was a spending bill. It passed. Now Trump want to spend $1.2 trillion sending $5,000 to everyone because... muh free money. And another $700 billion for DoD. Those would double our current deficit. Congress isn't likely to pass either of those. So fi anything Congress is holding back Trump from spending more than we already are. Blaming congress is (sadly) a non-starter at this point.
You look at the Republican s in Congress. What have they passed that he wants?

Well they certainly won’t if the Party that claims to care about it offers no solutions, and doesn’t even bother to frame it as the oncoming train wreck that it is.
Just ignore it and it will go away. Also, I want what I want when I want it.

Your party is who you vote for.
I'm a little high, but the end of your sentence doesn't read right.
Am I the correct person to respond to here? I was only talking at DOGE.

When you start a post, please post information that actually matters, not of what you posted matters.
Numbers are just numbers. They can be manipulated however we want them to be.
In two years Trump’s tariffs will make up for that deficit 5 fold

quote:Exactly. “Pretend to care” is the operative phrase. That's my entire point. Neither party gives one flying frick about you or me. So blindly stanning for either one is a fool's errand and political cuckoldry in the purest sense of the word.

There are three elephants in the room: Social Security reform, Medicare reform, and serious cuts to military spending. Until we're willing to confront those three, and we never will, everything else is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
And most of the partisan bullshite we're constantly encouraged to fight over serves as a diversion from that unholy trinity. We're arguing about the color of the curtains while our house burns down.
You don't need an economics degree to understand the problem. All it takes is a calculator and ten minutes looking at the federal budget. Basic arithmetic isn't partisan.

The problem will only get worse as people who were adults when Congress actually had balanced budgets die off.
My whole adult life is full of war and deficit spending. Good luck convincing us that isn't normal.

How do you know? The only reports we had about DOGE are their tweets with pictures of their own napkin math.
DOGE’s claim of $110B in savings was vastly inflated and riddled with errors
