How long before Biden talks about his son dying in Iraq?

His son didn’t die in Iraq. He died in Gettysburg freeing blacks from the chains of the white man

Well, they are saying it was a training mission and an aerial refueling mishap. My gut tells me that’s not true. The flight was coming back from Lebanese airspace. It is possible they were needing fuel after a mission over Lebanon. It is also possible they were limping back to Cyprus after taking fire over Lebanon. It’s also possible the “accident” was an air to air missile from hostile regional forces. MIGs are present in the area.

Geez, friend.
It must’ve been a long, stressful 24 hours for y’all.
I’m sick for your son’s/his unit’s loss.
And I’m sorry for our nation.

Thank you for the sacrifices your family makes while your son is deployed; forever I’ll be grateful.

They were "training" in the eastern Mediterranean?

Why is this hard to believe? They are either stationed or deployed there and have to do these type of flights among others to maintain proficiency. These quals expire

Not a surprise given Bo’s raising in the black church by a father who, as a long haul truck driver, was so in tune with the common man.

It is possible

It is. It’s also possible that it was an accident during an in-flight refueling, which is not trivial for rotary wing refueling from a Shadow. People seem to be keying on the SOF part; we have SOF all over the place and training can be dangerous. Missions obviously can be as well.

Well.....yeah. Just because you're deployed doesn't mean your training stops. People get promoted all the time while out to sea. Do you think they just hand out the promotions and say "we'll train you how to do this stuff when we get back home"?

Try to be respectful. Thankfully my son is ok but that’s his unit and he is there. I got a text from him about 50 minutes ago saying “Hey I just wanted to let you know I’m ok”.

Brother, thank goodness for that. I can only imagine the worry and angst I put my parents and wife through during my time in service. I cannot fathom having one of my kids in service, especially during these times. Prayers for you and your son.

It sucks that 5 family members said their last goodbyes on October 14th (when they deployed) and are getting flag draped caskets back.

^^^^This. Most in our country have been numbed to this with the pretty much endless wars / conflicts. There were some fathers and mothers and wives and kids that got some terrible news this weekend.

Aerial refueling of a helicopter just seems sketchy as shite to me under normal circumstances. Just so much that could go wrong.

A group of fine young men lost. Whatever happened (and let’s face it, maybe it happened like they say or maybe it didn’t, we can’t be sure), they died serving our country.

I don't feel like looking it up but I think there were several years where we lost more people in Iraq/Afghanistan to routine accidents than enemy fire. People still die in truck rollovers, they still have heart attacks, aircraft still crash; all the things that happen when they're stateside don't just stop.
