Undergrad Jeremy Wink and grad student Kart Kandula developed it while at UofM’s Security Lab. They were under the supervision of election expert J. Alex Halderman. Using the voters own handwriting markings to alter ballots is a truly devious approach. Depending on the computer, the entire process takes about 40 milliseconds (.04 seconds). It leaves no image artifacts behind, so the changes are undetectable.

quote:

The students tested it against EAC certified scanners. They also tested it against all six different ballots styles used in America. These come from manufacturers Dominion, ES&S, Clear Ballot, Diebold, and two styles from Hart InterCivic. The ballot styles for Dominion machines were the easiest to change. The Hart eScan ballots were the most difficult. The software can move all shapes used on election ballots including bubbles, circles, boxes, rectangles, ovals, etc.

The process works like this. You fill in you oval for your choice of candidate. You then scan the ballot and the switch is made automatically.

quote:

Prior to the election, the attacker specifies the template, which races they want to affect (Pres, Senate, etc), and by how much. While ballots are being scanned, this malicious software keeps a running tally of the “real” ballot results. Ballot images are changed on the fly to achieve the desired election outcome. To avoid detection, attackers can specify just enough manipulated images to win the race, but not by alarming amounts. The only way to catch this hack is to compare the original paper ballot to the ballot image.

We saw a race in Kansas where the votes were flipped. It was a local race and easily caught. They had no explanation and blamed it on a malfunctioning thumb drive.

quote:

To illustrate an illegal election operation the two men created an attack package called “UnclearBallot”. They disguised the attack by inserting malicious code into the “Windows Driver” that allows the scanners to communicate with the election system. They created a “microdriver” that essentially “wraps” around the original driver. This is what changes the ballots. But their malicious software can run in any environment. It doesn’t have to be a driver. It can be rewritten for a machines firmware, installed on an Election Management Server (EMS), and so on.

MOST ALARMING:

quote:

What’s most alarming is that Matthew Bernhard was involved, a Research Engineer at the hard left Voting Works. The Center For Democracy and Technology (CDT) created Voting Works, spun it out in 2018. CDT’s major donors are the Soros Open Society, Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Google, Facebook, Amazon. Others involved in this election project were Chinese speakers Henry Meng, Jensen Hwa, and Kevin Chang. In 2019 CISA and DHS partnered with Voting Works to push their bogus Risk Limiting Audits into many States before the 2020 election. It’s now used by 10 States. Voting Works has been an obnoxious proponent of mail-in ballots.

Trump Won.

And for the Democrats that believe Russia changed votes for Trump. Well here you go.

Our elections are not secure.

Uh how does a malfunctioning USB drive change voting data? And using USB drives to transmit data is a huge data security risk in itself.

RIP, undergrad Jeremy Wink and grad student Kart Kandula.

We hardly knew you.

Last time I voted in 2020 I asked for a receipt of who I voted and the election person told me they couldn’t provide one.

These machines should be to easily provide a receipt to the voter with some type of code on it to use to verify later if needed.

Exactly. here is the story from the news:

As reported by KSNF Joplin:

quote:

Upon discovering the improper programming, I immediately contacted representatives of Atchison, Kansas-based Lockwood Elections, who is responsible for programming the thumb drives used in our elections. The company recognized their error, and my office has since re-tabulated the ballots by a hand count audit, which resulted in Commissioner Frazier retaining her party’s nomination for the November General Election later this year. The Commission race was the only one impacted by the company’s error and I have already visited with both candidates impacted,” said County Clerk Rebecca Brassart.

“This is a good example of why we verify the accuracy of election results by conducting a post audit of election results, regardless of what the unofficial election night numbers might indicate. I again want to assure the citizens of Cherokee County how important election accuracy is to me and reiterate my commitment to ensuring every valid vote is properly counted,” she concluded.

There are issues with what she had to say too.

according to KOAM News:

quote:

Officials say the drives worked properly during testing, however, the malfunction was detected after the voting process.

We will never have paper ballots again. Now that they've figured out how to cheat using the computer code vote-switching methods, the Radical American Left have nearly accomplished what they deeply covet - to make all elections irrelevant WRT to their possession of political control over the USA.

Keep voting Democrats, America? We are nearly there? No longer relevant. The machines will convert your vote to Democrat, regardless of how you vote.

Don't worry, America! The voting machine will vote Democrat! We will soon be there!

There is a reason why you see places lose the paper ballots.

Just look at the Kansas Race where this factually happened.

They DO NOT want you to have the paper ballots for a reason.

Can't say it enough. Unfortunately, I am not seeing widespread compliance.

Anyone caught using this stuff should be drawn and quartered in the public square, regardless of party.

Why is necessary to know on election day the actual outcome? It's like expediency is more of an imperative than accuracy. We have this push to digitize the must fundamental and important process of our way of life ( trustworthiness of the election process) so that we can know in real time the results. why cant we wait a couple of days and have every ballot reviewed by hand ( actually two sets R and D ) time isn't of the essence especially when no one is taking office for several months. If we can spend 60 billion for democracy in the Ukraine why can't we do that here. I personally can wait a week or two if necessary

There's only ONE reason software like that is developed.
Those involved should be charged with conspiracy to commit voter frad, and charged accordingly.

that won't happen....

The entire country of France votes with a paper ballot. They have the results of their elections within 24 hours.

For all the fuss of “voting electronically,” it now takes longer to tabulate votes than it did when we didn’t have electronic voting.

That should tell you all you need to know.

A receipt would not help. The system could print you a receipt for your vote for candidate 1 but then change it to candidate 2 after 5 minutes.

The election machine software should be open source and extremely simple. Like just a few lines of code. This is a simple list of votes, there is no reason it should be complex, unless they are wanting stuff hidden in the code.

They want it all done on a computer and the computer system will have internet access. They need to be able to change the votes to win. And they will.

Think of the accounts like Facebook and snapchat have. Systems have been designed to handle millions of accounts and transaction yet we still go to a poll to vote. Of course that is by design and allows cheating but shouldn't we have an account that shows all of our voting history?

I guess that’s why all the initial computers guy were saying it was an algorithm, cause all the votes were coming in with exact rations, and then those exact rations were switched to a neighboring county in the same exact ratios, I guess to throw everyone off…

Groomer response….

“But paper ballots and hand tabulation are so archaic…..it’s the 21st century, we have the technology to make voting easy and available to all Americans and non Americans alike. We know the technology currently be used throughout many states for elections is dependable and proven….the 2020 GE was the most secure election in US history.”
