Not sure how many of you are familiar with him, but he was one of the original anti-cancel culture guys who vocally challenged the anti-Christian and anti-Conservative bias in academia.
He won a long court battle for full professor a few years ago. I think settled for about half a mil in back pay.
No cause of death yet, it's being investigated.

I'm sure suicide is suspected considering his recent issues, but he never struck me as having depression/mental illness.
Then again I hadn't read anything from him in a few years, so I'm not sure how things have been lately.
