SO what would you have said if it was 1938 and someone is warning our navy and army just got its arse handed to them in war games and wasn't ready for the new Ariel type of warfare? Or if someone. had said something when Task Force Smith was deployed? There is not a damn thing wrong with pointing out deficiencies before the crap hits the fan.
One benefit of Ukraine is it showed how lacking our war industry production is.

I missed this the first time through, but this is (kinda) incorrect.
I was never in a joint exercise where we didn't "show our best" but usually the "rules" put the US at a disadvantage. You actually want situations that show you weakness. This is sorta analogous to bringing in the elite shutdown NFL corners to an LSU practice and LSU only running pass plays to their outside receivers. LSU would look like trash but it is on purpose.
Anyone who has ever done a NTC rotation knows it is almost impossible to beat the OPFOR. They have systemic advantages. You do your best, but you have to get beaten to get better.
