This sounds like a backdoor attempt to get the US into the fray.
1. UK/France send troops.
2. UK/France troops make gains by snuffing Russian troops (and possibly NK troops as well).
3. Russia declares war on UK/France.
4. Various treaties kick in and the US is now at war with Russia.

A quagmire favors the Europeans and hurts the Russians. I predict that if the Europeans send substantial amounts of troops, say more than 80,000, Russia will actually lose this war. And by “lose” I mean back out of Ukraine keeping only Crimea and with vague promises of limiting NATO expansion.
And Trump isn’t sending troops. He’s too smart for that, and his foreign policy platform is heavily based on the idea that Europe has been dick-riding America.
This could be great for America. The EU could dissolve over this, even though the eventual dissolution would likely be ten years, or so, from now. We could end up with a chastised Russia, and an EU that is just a monetary union, as it should be.

It is amazing how little those two nations have learned from history, particularly WW1.
They will send a generation of men to die, get caught up in a quagmire and then they will call US to bail them out. And, in amazing lack of hindsight, we will help them out and the world will be at war yet again.
The amount of money laundering going on by these nations must be massive if they are willing to throw the world into chaos to protect Ukraine's corrupt government, which itself is no better than Putin's corrupt government in Russia.
