I never understood discriminating against entire schools. If an applicant proves their competence during an interview, why does it matter where they graduated from?

A beauty of standardized requirements is that hard enforcement of them minimizes the prospect of political admissions. Less legacy admits, more those deserving of admission. And the standard applied evenly to all.

This is arguably net backwards for equity.

They will treat it like Ole Miss and State do. Both schools are forced to have insanely low entrance requirements, a lot of people that shouldn't get in do. But most of the first year courses are made very difficult to weed out the ones who have no business being there.

that's what LSU did in the days of open admissions...

The "discrimination" is a lot softer than that. Recruiting is expensive and firms want to go where there's high juice per squeeze. Goldman Sachs doesn't recruit at LSU for a reason. If such an employer in a competitive industry doesn't recruit on a campus, it's really hard for a non-target to even make it to an interview.

A company can’t truly evaluate technical competence in a standard one hour interview. They can though evaluate the syllabus, accreditation, and historical rates of success in the EIT and PE exams of individual programs.

As an example, not engineering but Math. A comparison of the B.S. Math curriculums at a local NOLA HBCU to several southeastern state colleges will show that the highest level of math taught at the HBCU is first semester junior year work at state universities.

And so candidates will have to go to graduate school, to prove themselves.

Because college is now just a meaningless participation trophy.

The go to universities with the “right” upper middle class or upper class profile.

So it’ll base acceptance solely on GPA?

That’s even more racist.

Im actually ok with this. If you are a school and you have more applicants than capacity, you should be able to pick the students that best fit your school.

The left wants everyone to embrace other cultures. Diversity. Until they are confronted with the fact that all cultures do not place equal importance on academic achievement.

Example. Talking with a Vietnamese friend of mine about Harvard caping Asian admission. He told me “we aren’t smarter because we’re Asian. Our parents will beat our arse if we don’t do well in school.”

This action has zero bearing on if standardized test discriminate.

I don’t think they’re comfortable with actual diversity.

They’re like the facade of diversity, food, costumes, language, but they expect these people to think and act like them.

It shows on CNN, where everyone looks different but spouts the same shite. And then calls out Fox for “conflicting messages”.
