Go around all this.

If the majority of parents got together and encouraged a charter school to come into the district. Move support away from the school district and to the charter school. Vote down any new taxes for the school district as they would not be needed.

Then they could probably get around this.

I live in Granbury and few years ago one of my neighbors was county clerk and refused to grant a marriage license to a same sex couple. The feds initially came down hard on her, but she came though it all unscathed.

This is basically a deep red city and county. City named after Confederate general Hiram Granbury and the county named after John Bel Hood.

Tell this to TurbeauxDog. He will insist that you are lying.

He and Kaiju know rural Texas better than you or me.

So, it's unlikely a committee of parents selected at random would produce the results AggieHank is peacocking over?

How you miss the significance of this is beyond me.

The significance is that rural Texans are reasonable people. If the books had been pornographic, they would have stayed banned. The vast majority were not.

Again, do you know who selected the parents to be on this committee?

So some of the books in fact contained porn?

Apparently the committee considered a handful of the books to be inappropriate. The reporting does not describe the reason(s) for which they were deemed “inappropriate.“

The reporting does not even say whether the “inappropriate“ books were straight or gay.

The point is that community involvenent in the process worked better than fiat by the superintendent.

You lean fully on the legality aspect, so I’ll ask you...

If the law was changed to allow for ? acts with children, would you support it?

I know I would say frick no, I don’t support that insanity.

How bout it libertarian Hank, should the children get to decide which one of your friends they are going to “be with?”

Would you support such a law?

PedoHank doesn’t need a law to support this, he already supports this as long as the parents are ok with it

In short, your point is moot.

Is she issuing the marriage licenses now?

Of course she is.

He claims to be a liber...tarian and a strict supporter of the law.

Probably not. If I understand your vague hypothetical, the actions in question would probably violate the NAP vis-a-vis the child.

I lived in the area for years. What does his post have to do with mine or your ignorance?

Well, he lives there now.

While you claim that it is a ”woke” suburb of Fort Worth, he is telling you that (at this time) it is a blood red rural Texas county.

One of you is full of shite. I know the region pretty well myself. It is you who is full of shite, not him.

I’m not responding to the reporting, I’m responding to what you said. You specifically said that “if the books had been pornographic, they would have stayed banned”. Based on the criteria you stated in your post, they in fact found pornographic books.
