This is something EVERY governor (and the Federal Government) needs to examine, very closely.
There is no overreaching Conservative motive for such an action, nor is there really any "mainstream" Liberal one either. This ain't some guy that wants to get back to work or go to his camp on the Upper Peninsula, or is mad that football is being allowed again (or has been delayed etc). He doesn't want to strike out in support of Trump, nor of Biden either.
This is an extreme nutjob with zero sense of respect of anything American, that wanted to take advantage of the current chaos to do something insane.
This is the atmosphere in lots of places around the country right now; I wouldn't be shocked if something similar was brewing on the Pacific Coast somewhere. Hell, I wouldn't be totally shocked if it were happening closer to home. We have state governments at odds with their governors in a lot of places, including here. To the lunatic fringe, that's "proof' that such actions aren't just needed, it would be welcomed. Such are the delusions they harbor.
Look at the shite that happened with Rand Paul, now look at this. Different politics on the receiving end, probably different vitriol fermenting the agitation, but the actors in both are very similar. Anarchists attacking legit governmental figures, with a goal to disrupt and destroy order.
This is why gun control is a non-starter, and gun sales are going through the roof. This shite needs to be stamped out before it spreads more.
