No it wasn’t. The Articles of confederation lead to too Much competition between states and weren’t working the whole
point of the constitution was to great a unified country with better cooperation between states that were originally independent colonies.
We had competition before. One of the driving issues behind the constitution was interstate tarriffs and other interstate issues.
The bicameral system was a compromise made to keep small states On board and founders like James Madison thought it was unnecessary.

Prove that the electoral college is an electoral college is a brilliant refutation, short stack.
This is literally Nonsense. 1, I asked You to prove it’s a good thing. Not that’s it is what it is.

Back to the beginning of this argument.
Are you saying that’s is because of the electoral College I have Internet?
If so, defend that point with some kind of argument.

It’s the same “correlation must equal causation” Argument you made.
It’s weak and none of you actually want to try and support it.
You just want to throw it out there and then call people names.
Originally we didn’t even have popular election and we’ve become one of the most powerful nations in the world after we started having those.
Doesn’t that support a trend toward MORE representation if all correlation is causation?

You branded my argument as "correlation must equal causation" - and it's not. Granted, it requires a level of intelligence that makes possible an understanding that nobody argues the EC, and the EC alone, is responsible for everything good, including your f'n internet connection. You're incapable or unwilling to have an honest discussion.

Would it not take a constitutional amendment?

I asked You why disproportionate representation was a good thing and you said
Which is a cop out answer.
If you want to now pretend you actually had a nuanced argument, you can, but I invited You to make that argument and you declined.
Don’t get on your high horse now about it requiring understanding. You refused To Make the argument .

It was a broad generalization. The EC is part/parcel of a governing scheme that has created the wealthiest, freest, most powerful country the world has ever seen. Did you really need that typed out to understand what many in this thread are arguing?

I asked You why disproportionate representation was a good thing and you said
Biden, despite having the most votes in history, won the fewest number of counties in history. won the fewest number.
Ultimately...
More Than Half of U.S. Population in 4.6 Percent of Counties That's 143 counties.
The Founders were wisely concerned about states distoring power by population. In today's America, we should be worried about counties being able to distort power by population.
If anything, with the increase in urbanization, the fixed portion of the EC should be higher than it was at the founding--not lower.
It's clear. Those that want the EC dissolved are the ones that need to explain how disproportionate representation is a good thing.

Oh ok. That’s a weak arguement.
Basically that because we have a functioning government all aspect of it are beyond reproach.
Why does the EC make us a better nation?

That's not how this works. The EC is a real thing and most of the states the federal government serves are happy with it. You're the one arguing for change. Tell us how having a handful of cities in a few states decide every f'n thing would make us a better nation.

Cities wouldn’t decide election. People
Would.
“A handful of cities” would still need to be the majority of voters.
An American’s vote mattering as much as any other Americans is a good thing.
It’s consistent with a republic.
Shouldn’t people vote and not cities and states?

The Connecticut compromise was a compromise
Not everyone agrees with every state being equal, they were just more interested in getting a federal government created.
If they all agreed it wouldn’t be a compromise.

Trump is actually correct here. For a democracy, the EC is a disaster as it prevents true democracy (majority rules).
Fortunately, we're a representative republic and it's a very good thing for that form of government.
