How quickly, exactly, did you expect an impact on your life? Tump has been in office 8,9 months… tariffs began in different stage beginning maybe 5,6 months ago.

So you expected the largest economy in the world to cut on a dime? Have you heard the analogy of turning an ocean-liner? This shite is the massive lift of all massive lifts. It will likely take years, not days to see the impacts.

You’re viewing the world from a Tik-Tok perspective.

Lawd what an idiot take. Yes the oil itself is “American-made”, but there are literally countless components in the equipment needed that are not, and are subject to tarrifs.

Hell even the truck nutz on the F250s are made overseas

Every country in the world has tariffs on the US. How does it benefit you to pay for the world's governments?

If tariffs have zero impact why does every country tariff the United States?

So by that logic we should socialize medicine.

Everyone else does.

Have we not figured this out yet?

Those nations' citizens pay those tariffs. Not us.

The ones we pay are the ones Trump has imposed on imports here.

Trump is trying to actually fix the economy not just put a Band-Aid on it like everyone else has done. It was always gonna get worse before it got better. I have a feeling by the time the midterms come around things are going to be much better and hopefully income tax is gone for people making 200,000 or less.

That's fine, as long as you say the same thing when The Idiot posts things like, "How much have the prices risen yet?" "What items are you paying more for today?"

That argument works both ways.

I say this with all respect.

If you really think income taxes are going away—by midterms, no less—you have no business commenting on tariffs. Not even on a mostly low-IQ board like this.

Ever since covid, nothing seems like it has came down in price.

That is sort of the problem with inflation. When inflation goes up to 7%, companies start having to start paying their employees more, so that they can keep up with inflation. Prices, which are already inflated, now have to have the added cost of that labor baked in. There is no way to put that genie back in the bottle, so it is next to impossible to decrease prices back to the old amounts. The best you can hope for, is that prices stabilize and only increase going forward at a much smaller rate.

They do, you just don't understand how this works.

In short, if you are in O&G, you have customers buying your O and your G. Otherwise you wouldn't be in O&G. Those customers are American. Where once we made all of our stuff here, and those customers made decent wages, we now make all our stuff in China and those customer of yours work at Walmart for $8/hour and no bennies. They have a harder time buying your O and your G.

See? not so hard.

The other 15% better represent the cost of regulations. Otherwise your example sucks.

On recent trips to China, Japan and Korea, I noticed that there were no empty store fronts, abandoned factories or dying towns. It's not their fault that American companies have shipped all of that production to them and elsewhere. In some cases, American companies have no choice in order to survive, but in others it is just a chance to increase profit and big bonuses.

We do need to foster domestic production. It's a mistake to outsource our production and all of the skill sets that go with it.

You are confusing Biden's spending binge inflation and oil "climate" policies with tariffs. Groceries are mostly domestic product unaffected by tariffs, but very much affected by that 9% inflation.

Not the kind I sell. So while some line pipe and other steels are produced here,
Casing and tubing is usually produced in Japan- tariffed.

Yup. Tariffs are having a big time negative impact on American manufacturers.

The “strategy” really hasn’t accomplished much.
