It is, but the hardcores would want a Trump family member or someone who has worshiped him like they do.

I'm convinced most of them enjoy the rallies more than they care about winning an election

Trump let Fauci run wild, and if he had any sense, wouldn't bring up Covid when attacking DeSantis

My man, why don’t you stop portending to know what all those other people are thinking, especially on such a specific level. It’s just poor form.

If the hardcore types are delusional enough to think DeSantis is a WEF loving globalist then they are crazy enough to latch onto Lindell or Lake as a leader

Actually no. 7 states never even issued a stay at home order.

I don't even know your point here. So what.

Anyone trying to act like it was all on Trump is stupid. HOWEVER, anyone trying to pretend that he wasn't on the wrong side of the rhetoric(initially) is also being dishonest.

But yes. This whole COVID thing was pretty much 95% a Dem/Liberal phenomenon. Sure, they'd like to try and act like the other 5% somehow makes us even. But, that's dumb.

All of that though is irrelevant to trying to play hard in the paint with Desantis on this shite.

I can, I am, and I am right. Even DeSantis supporters are saying.

Has nothing to the fact that DeSantis shut down businesses. Period.

Man, hanging on to this is just fricking desperate.

Desantis was on the right side of this for like 98% of the time and you're trying to hang on to that 2% like it fricking matters.

All while pretending Trump's role wasn't significant at that stage too.

The distinction between the two in the initial stages of COVIC is so negligible as to not even warrant discussion when compared to the larger picture. Acting as if ANYING occurred which would make Desantis not worthy of our vote is fricking asinine in the extreme.

I just got High Desert to kindly clarify what he means when he references the same types that you are there, and I think we probably agree that it’s a minority (a small one at that, IMO) that match those characteristics, thus really don’t warrant a level of discussion as if they were coming at us from every direction, from the trees, water, shadows and you probably get the point (which all this is only my opinion, I better add).

Part of the problem right now is Trump himself. Frankly, he needs to shut the frick up.

I get it. Even within party, when running for the same seat, candidates are going to have to find ways to differentiate themselves if they hope to win.

But Goddamn. #1, it's too fricking early to go scorched Earth and #2, frankly, if the BEST Trump can do to differentiate himself is to try to pass of some absurdity that Desantis is barely a smidge different than McCain, then Trump should rightfully be mocked for doing so.

I agree that they are a minority, maybe 1/5 or 1/4 of his support.

That minority is really loud and right now are acting no different than resist libs

If this is how his campaign is going to go then he's gonna be in serious trouble.

The Trump influencers are pitching a fit at The Babylon Bee over one of their articles.

Not hanging on to anything. I am pointing out facts.

He reopened in 3 phases... those phases were talked about at the friggin WH with Trump.

It was the sole reason for his visit.

So now are you saying Trump gets credit for that?

You see, that's the issue with those who never wanted Trumo like Displaced, HHtm and a few more around here.

Now, if you want to have an honest conversation on it, then we can do it. There are those willing to do it and I am one of them. Davy is another.

And that is a 2 way street. Which is the point.

I can't speak to that. I voted for Trump twice and, were he the nominee again, I'd vote for him again.

But, head to head with Desantis, at this point? No brainer. Desantis.

You're trying to draw some significant distinction between Desantis and Trump during covid where NONE really exists. And, THAT'S the problem with Trumps asinine rhetoric right now. In ANY rational world where Trump is #1, if Desantis isn't #1A, you're out of your mind. Hence, Trump is out of his fricking mind right now.

Yes, THAT IS the point. Desantis isn't the one running around trying to portray Trump as barely different from Newsome.

Nole, think back to 2016 and Trump’s style and approach that ingratiated him to what became a wide ranging base of steadfast supporters. Recall who all he ran against, the very well known and influential people. His go straight at em style made people believe this “rough around the edges” guy couldn’t be anything other than genuine in his beliefs and assertions. And assertions about his opponents. Now take note, I’m not saying ALWAYS RIGHT, but genuine nonetheless. This earned him a very much unpredicted mass of core supporters which contrary to some accounts has not dwindled.

So fast forward to today…….what’s different from then and now?

I'm glad DeSantis can take a jab from Trump better than his supporters can.

I'm, unlike most I guess, am waiting for the debates.
