Trump's new "immigration deal" is a huge choke job; giving farm away for little to nothing

This is the first time I've ever linked breitbart on here. It may be a trash website but they're absolutely spot the frick on here.
Luckily for us however.....
This is why I oppose the White House proposal. It is amnesty with no American benefits or completely delayed by several years that can be undone by a democrat POTUS/Congress.
LINK
This is not a deal. This is a DACA on steroids with no benefits for Americans and basically a repeat of Reagan's 1986 amnesty. Thank god democrats are too batshit insane to know this a steal of a deal here.
What the frick? Democrats just are shite on the shutdown and this is literally snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The Goodlatte bill is a good bill and a good starting point for negotiations. Trump endorsed that bill and we have WH aides cutting that off at their knees. This is definitely where John Kelly's greenness to politics is showing. Oh and Marc Short worked for the Koch Brothers who support amnesty.
quote:
The open-ended amnesty offer by Donald Trump’s top deputies to the Democrats combines political incompetence, malpractice, greed, betrayal, and self-mutilation, say Trump’s friends and supporters.
“It electrifies the Democratic base and dispirits your own Republican base, and that is the recipe for a wipeout” in November, said Dan Horowitz, editor at Conservative Review. “You could call it the Self-Impeachment Act of 2018,” he added.
Luckily for us however.....

Democrats, however, are happy to portray the surrender as merely cowardly and hateful, unAmerican, racist, evil, and hostage-taking.
This is why I oppose the White House proposal. It is amnesty with no American benefits or completely delayed by several years that can be undone by a democrat POTUS/Congress.
quote:
The malpractice is shown by the terms of the proposal, which contradicts Trump’s claim to be a master negotiator, by offering many concessions without getting anything in return, and by front-loading the amnesty while deferring potential benefits for Americans until after the November election and even the 2028 election.
The proposal says it will help Americans in the workplace by cutting back chain-migration — but it actually allows all 4 million people in the backlogged chain-migration pipeline to become citizens over the next 15 years or so.
The proposal says it cancels the visa lottery, but it just diverts the lottery visas to accelerate the arrival of the siblings, and elderly parents previously picked for citizenship by semi-random visa-lottery winners. The proposal says it offers amnesty to an estimated 1.8 million younger illegals — but it suggests no rules to limit the likely fraud, undercounting and judicial appeals that could ensure a supercharged repeat of the 1986 amnesty, when the legislature’s promise of 400,000 green cards to agriculture workers quickly became the bureaucracy’s award of 1 million green cards.
In effect, the administration is creating a courtroom right for every future wave of young illegals to claim amnesty, and a huge incentive for hundreds of millions of loving parents to smuggle their children into the United States.
The proposal does ask for $25 billion to build a border wall, but it also rejects proposed laws that would allow criminal charges against people who fly over the wall, overstay their tourist visas and claim their children are dreamers too. Instead, overstays are to be merely deterred by a quick departure or “expedited removal,” the proposal says.

This is a proposal that's comfortably left of center and it will wind up pretty damn far left wing after "negotiations" are done.

He'll change his mind again

this cant be true. on Monday this board had the first two pages filled with posts about how god trump was owning the left and they got nothing from the master negotiator. 10D chess, and all that.

Trump has already snookered the left. He tried to give the middle away (DACA) and pushed them farther left. Now, he can say he tried and leave DACA out of the process saying the Dems didn't want it.

Yeah, it's terrible.
The main reason I jumped on the Trump Train day one was due to Trump's position on immigration.
This proposal is totally contrary to what was communicated on the campaign trail and his first year in office. This immigration proposal is more liberal than an Obama immigration proposal.
It's terrible. I'm extremely disappointed. Extremely.
Obama must be dancing in the streets dreaming of turning Texas, Georgia and Florida blue by 2020.

Democrats are saying no, so as long as he doesn't give in, it won't pass

There's not a politican alive or dead that's capable of getting me to support something I have always been fiercely opposed to and that's placating and enabling illegal immigration.
It steals well over a hundred billion dollars from Americans each year including countless lost jobs and depressed wages. Enough is enough.
Trump supporters need to understand that Trump doesn't bat a thousand and never will.

Maybe Trump knows they ain't bitin' and he can use this to show that there is no reasonable compromise to be had.

Didn’t realize a deal had been done.
You would think...at some point... some of you would wise up to Trump tactics for negotiations. Good grief.

I could understand this sentiment on healthcare, but not immigration. His policy positions on immigration is why he got elected.

If Trump seriously sticks with it, it will rattle your faith in him and it will depress the base for the midterms and 2020. Its electoral suicide.
Think bush read my lips on steroids. Immigration was the central issue he was elected on and he cannot give this up.

You are 100% right.

This proposal is starting center of left here and there's only one direction to go from there and that's further leftward.

But the opening salvo is a Democrat's wet dream on immigration.

I've stopped second guessing the man. He just wins every time no matter how crazy his original plan or statement sounds.
