It probably didn’t help the confidence of the civilian population in this regard to see such obviously political gamesmanship and manipulation of every aspect of the situation from American citizens and politicians and other “high profile” figures, with the apparent goal in mind of derailing the whole effort and process. And I do also believe that the above-described actions substantially hamstrung the President’s ability to achieve what were (and still are) legitimate, sincere and forthright efforts/goals.
So what I’m ultimately getting at is that we have “ourselves” firstly to blame for the “difficulties” experienced and observed immediately at the front end of this thing. JMO folks, same as the rest of us.

This reads more or less like a screenplay written backward from the desired ending. Trump offers Iran major concessions, the agreement begins unraveling, and suddenly that was the master plan all along.
There is no evidence presented that the MOU was designed as a trap. The author simply takes Iran’s alleged noncompliance and retrofits it into proof of Trump’s strategic genius. Had Iran complied, Trump would have been praised as a peacemaker. Since it did not, he is praised as a mastermind who baited them.
Funny how every trail in the story seems to wander right back to the same porch, where Trump was apparently playing four-dimensional chess the whole time. That’s mighty convenient bubba.

they fricked it. plain and simple
if your military plan can be derailed by a bunch of people asking "why are we going to war?" then your plan probably sucks

How are you so certain as to what they fricked up and what they didn’t if/when you don’t know a single thing about the actual facts and factors “on the ground 360,” as they say? If you don’t know anything whatsoever about the influences on this or that decision, or non-decision, as the case may be, how are your stated positions and beliefs anything more than speculation and gossip and guesswork?
None of us actually knows any of the most relevant and consequential facts or circumstances behind the scenes, i.e. at the “center” of the entire thing, yet there’s no shortage of expert, definitive conclusions and “wisdom” offered anyway, not a care in the world. Lol

I'm sure Trump did, too, but he doesn't have the luxury of acting like it. Like it or not, the president has to deal with public and international perception. For the good of the country, he also has to at least try to negotiate instead of jumping into a full-scale war from the get-go.
