Trump lawyer argues for presidential immunity.

He brings up these three examples.

1. Bush lied to congress to induce war with Iraq.

2. Obama ordered drone strikes to kill U.S. citizens abroad.

3. Biden induced foreigners to enter the U.S. illegally.

The case really boils down to official acts vs private acts.

K, so Bush's personal vendetta against Hussein is an official act or not?

Be careful what you wish for Mickey.

Should this case go through, every ex-president will stand trial.

Is taking bribes from corrupt foreign governments through family members as middlemen n official duty or a private act of A POTUS?

And apparently a bunch of morons want courts to decide what is an official act.

I'm not wishing for anything.

In the end, the odds the case actually goes to trial is slim imo. Trump probably wins in November and this case goes away. Very little chance a trial is happening before the election.

Prediction:

SCOTUS sends the case back down to Chutkan and forces her to have an evidentiary hearing and force her to make a determination between official and private acts.

Of course she will rule in favor of Jack. Trump will then make an interlocutory appeal to the DC Circuit. The DC Circuit will rule in favor of Jack.

Trump will request an en banc hearing from the DC Circuit. He will be denied.

Trump then will appeal to SCOTUS.

SCOTUS accepts and sets a hearing date after November 5th.

Trump will win on November 5th.

The Trump DOJ will drop the charges. The SCOTUS hearing is then off the docket.

Yeah I think it'll be something along those lines.

Even Trump's attorney admitted there was no immunity for private acts, and the acts described in the indictment were private acts.

He'll still get his delay because SCOTUS is corrupt, but he didn't have any logic in his arguments.

And the non-morons want who, exactly, to interpret the law and make that determination?

Listen to what Robert’s said. The court will recognize that what you call“ private acts “ are in the outer perimeter of his official acts. The same principle as Nixon vs Fitzgerald. The principle of limited immunity will be affirmed .It will then be sent back to the lower court. Where it will then be postponed and a moot point after Trump is elected for a second term.

The game is up.

It would have never been if he had not run.

It's a political trial and Jack Smith should be jailed for it.

No reasonable person thinks that immunity extends to private acts.

No finder of fact has made that determination.

Imagine thinking that remand so that the trial court can actually make the determination at issue in the case is "corrupt."

Trump was president when documents were shipped and stored. As a private citizen he didn’t do a thing illegal as he’s stated he declassified documents prior to, unlike Biden who for 49 years had classified documents stolen and in possession.
