Looking at these past four years it would be hard for Pete to do worse than Lloyd Austin and crew.

As someone who has served for the last 26+ years, this part right here:

quote:

The 44-year-old Hegseth, a staunch conservative who embraces Trump's “America First” policies, has pushed for making the military more lethal. During an interview on “The Shawn Ryan Show” podcast, he said allowing women to serve in combat hurts that effort.

...makes him vastly more qualified than the current clown warming that desk chair and probably most of the chairs in the Pentagon too.

I look for these type of reaction by the bureaucrats to know its the correct choice. Hegseth had me when he said we are going back to the standard of the mid 90s.

And while he said diversity in the military is a strength, he said it was because minority and white men can perform similarly but the same isn't true for women.

Liberals have declared a "CODE: PINK" and circled the wagons in a vagina-formation to take a stand against such misogyny... and nature.

Ash Carter was a college professor who never served in the miltary.
William Cohen was a lifelong politician who never served in the military.
Dick Cheney was a draft dodger and lifelong politician who never served.

Hegseth is a decorated officer and combat veteran.
I'll take that over an "experienced" DC hack who has never had to face the consequences of the wars they wage..

An older article, but sheds light on previous SecDef military experience, or lack thereof, as 30% had no prior service experience.

Pretty sure he's a straight National Guard 11B, and faithfulness can be and is achieved in the SOF world.

It's not a disqualifier but the number of people celebrating it is weird.

This sentence makes me think the pick will be a good one.

Two options here.

1) This is made up bullshite.

2) This is commentary from a swamp creature who’s frightened that the money train is coming to an end.

Hope he shows up at the Pentagon with ivory handle pistols on his waist and wearing riding boots.

I believe the melt is being and will continue to be fed by the MiC. We haven't seen anything yet folks. They have endless funding. But if we could crack open the UAP stuff or other secret programs and off board funding it would take some of the starch out of them.

Does experience count? Sure it does but so do new ideas. New ideas gives you an opportunity to travel a road that is not wallowed out with ruts on the old road. So I'm ready to try a different approach to finding a different path going forward. Politics is an entity that had a beginning about 250 years but it will never have an ending as long as man walks the earth.

And its not like Pete would be doing it all by himself. The staff he assembles will do the brunt of the work. But someone like him can direct things to go into a certain manner.

Good pick.

One of the main things about this pick that keeps sticking out to me is the fact that multiple generals said that they withheld information from Trump multiple times.

With Hegseth being the pick and all the unrest its causing at the Pentagon, all eyes will be looking and will see quickly who is withholding info this time. I bet they dont last long.

He wasn’t in the Special Forces.

That being said, i don’t give a shite how many wives he’s had. I want someone who gives a shite about winning wars and killing bad guys in the most efficient and brutal way possible, not some politically correct fig who thinks women’s rights are more important than war fighting capabilities.
