Military officials said the choice came out of the blue. A senior military officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media, said Hegseth's selection is raising concerns about whether he has the practical experience to manage a large department with an enormous budget.

AND THIS IS WHY WE NEED A OUTSIDER. To find these kind of people and get them the Hell out of the way. He knows he is not allowed to discuss but there is no penalty for back stabbing our commander and chief.

I get the arguments to find someone who is not ingrained in the MIC or who has climbed the ranks during the Obama and Biden years. However, the US Dept of Defense is huge and I would prefer to have seen someone who has managed/led/or who has shown the aptitude to navigate that type of organization. All of that on top of spearheading the defense strategy for the globe. Trump made mistakes in the last relying on either too entrenched or too inexperienced people and I am afraid this is the same. We will see

He said in a podcast that he was up to be Trump's Director of VA affairs or something...went to Trump tower to talk to Trump

Trump said basically, "I would like to hire you for this role, but why does EVERYONE I talk to around the defense dept and the VA hate you so much?"

That pretty much explains this IMHO

I understand this line of thinking, but we’ve had guys with experience and that’s only led us to runaway spending, woke policies (be it tranny shite, lowering standards for women, or Covid vax requirements), and overall weakened fighting force. It’s time to do something different. Delegate the bean counting and end the decades long MIC grift being pulled on the American people. Business as Usual isn’t going to fly anymore. And all the pols/insiders crying about this to the media are probably the ones who stand to lose the most.

His orders to help with the DC national guard because he has a Cross tattoo.

And while he said diversity in the military is a strength, he said it was because minority and white men can perform similarly but the same isn't true for women.

This is 100% fact and anyone who disagrees is'nt worth the time trying to convince otherwise.

The dude is a war fighter. I like the choice.

There was an erroneous post on X that said he spent time in the regiment as a pilot with the 160th. That would have made him perfect in my kind.

If any of these racist gashes are still officers in the Army, Pete needs to root them out.

Dude is on his third wife and he’s only in his 40s. Decision making and judgement of character alarm bells ringing.

There’s another dude been in the news a lot lately who is on his third wife and seemingly doing just fine.

And surrounded himself with people that turned on him in his first term. Character judgment was terrible.
