I knew before I even opened the thread that there would be liberals in here saying "trump hates the arts, omg!"
I'll just leave this here:
The arts is something that can EASILY survive in the private sector, because it is not a public good and there is heavy consumer demand for it.
But using guns to take money from some to give to artists is cronyism.
If an artist wants money, he/she should offer it on the market.

Philosophically as a fiscal conservative, I would agree with you but I'm not going to champion this when the left defended Michelle's numerous vacations abroad for 8 years that served no purpose for american taxpayers.

Well, as a fiscal conservative who isn't a partisan hack that criticized Michelle's use of vacations, I continue to criticize unnecessary spending on the First Family.

I'd imagine the dude has a ridiculous amount of art in Trump tower. Thankfully, his decision making here has less to do with personal preference and more to do with the proper role of government. We don't need the federal government to run a damn art department.
