If they’re doing our bidding, they’re not doing England’s bidding. Pretty simple really.

As I said the other night. Do we really want to be sending American citizens in large numbers to a country that held American citizens hostage for well over a year in the late 70’s? All they would have to do is take any American sent to help rebuild Iran hostage and threaten to behead them unless Trump renegotiates any deal they sign to end this war. Iran could ask for wild crazy demands and Trump would have to agree and give them what they want or deal with the fallout here at home when Americans are killed brutally on camera for the world to see.
Is that likely to happen probably not. I’m not a murdering terrorist though and I thought about it which means they damn sure are capable of thinking of it. This regime is as bad as it ever has been since it has taken power in Iran. How could anyone ever trust they wouldn’t take hostages knowing they have done it in the past?

Iran will never agree to those terms, but if they did:
Rebuilding them with their own money (basically if we get half their oil) will be somewhat economically positive for all the American contractors and their employees doing the work.
Rebuilding is a long term way to keep eyes and ears on the ground over there.
We stay a net exporter of oil, and add to our exports with our half of the Iranian oil.
The more oil we control the better it is for the petrodollar.
China/other Asian countries will be buying more oil from us. The more we control China’s oil supply, the better. Puts us in a much better bargaining position going fwd with them.
The other US “friendly” producers in the area will become even friendlier with us there keeping the local crackheads in check. The local crackheads will no longer be able to hold the entire world hostage/jack with the oil market at will.
We now have a 100% vested interest in monitoring/patrolling/enforcing/etc. shite in the strait, and region in general.
I’m sure there are some bad points to be made, but overall it’s a big positive for us and a tolerable one for the rest of the world.

Oil revenues that’s been going to London via BP will be used to rebuild Iran when the Persian People control Iran. Never said we were taking their oil… they will use their resources to rebuild…not ours…
