I'd like to see Ron appoint himself to the Senate seat. For no other reason than to see John's head explode.

If a seat opens up soon it's more likely for politics if appointing a seated Elected official
Trump would nominate Cruz and then Paxton would run for US Senate in a special election

head to head v Cornyn is not a sure bet and eats up a lot of capital, political and cash

Ron is a adminstaror not a debator

I promise I would not care. It's Ron's political career, not mine. I am just fascinated how someone who did a good job as governor can make so many bad political decisions.

I guess, in your little mind, Ron's ONLY chance at ANY sort of political future is to appoint Lara to the open Senate seat. If he doesn't do that, then he can kiss his entire political future goodbye and probably should move to another country or face being an outcast for the rest of his life. Maybe... maybe you could even shun him, Amish style.

Good leaders are bad politicians. Good politicians are bad leaders

That's just the reality. You guys get to emotional over this. I like Ron and hope he makes the right decision

Here's the thing you will never realize just what an admission you've made in that statement

The admission is you know nothing about politics

The job of being a governor is an administrative one
With very strict controls on how those jobs that are under administrative control can be done it's a talent to be a good administrator but it is very very different

from being a successful campaigner

Especially on the national stage

Trump spent years practicing to be a national candidate going on talk shows having The Apprentice and I'm not belittling Trump

I'm talking about how he got paid training for what the job of being a national candidate now is

Things are as different now as they were on the eve of the Nixon Kennedy debate those that listen to radio thought Nixon won those that saw it on T V thought Kennedy won

You not understanding that shows how ignorant you are
I think you're stupid

but this shows how ignorant you are of what the game is

it's a very different job

My bro, you sure poster john wasn’t talking about political decisions insomuch as perhaps quite bad decisions that have very negatively affected his future political career/aspirations, POTUS in particular??

He said how could he be a good governor and make such bad campaign decisions implying the talent to be a good governor meant he understood the decisions he was making as a candidate for president

I'm pointing out that they are two very different talents

Perhaps just because the right combination of factors hasn’t yet presented itself. I could easily see Mahomes fitting the bill for exactly that in the future.

What were we even talking about again? Whatever it was, I’m sure I could be reading the situation incorrectly. I openly and readily admit it. In every case. It never happens, but it could. I kid. Everyone take it easy.
