No, it was not. Nuclear material was used as a reason post-bombing, but no one ever said Iran could not have ballistic missiles. They have had them for quite some time now.

This is correct. It’s amazing to me how long we’ve seen and watched Trump work and people still don’t understand everything he says is meant to cause a SPECIFIC reaction. He never spits nonsense without reason for it. The fact that he makes it look that way is what makes him successful

But you are incorrect about the Trump admins’ stated views of Iran’s missile program.
Historical data points:
When Trump withdrew from the original Obama-era nuclear deal (the JCPOA), his primary criticism was that it failed to eliminate the threat of Iran's ballistic missile program.
On February 28, Trump took a hardline stance, declaring: "We're going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground. It will be totally, again, obliterated."
In early March, Rubio reinforced this absolute goal, stating to reporters: "The objectives of this operation are to destroy their ballistic missile capability and make sure they can't rebuild it... That's the objective of the mission."
The Pentagon argued that military action was necessary because Iran's massive ballistic missile arsenal acted as a tactical shield to protect its covert nuclear ambitions.

This is only true if Iran is done being a world enemy. If they have new leadership moving forward that’s wants to join the first world, it makes sense that they are armed to defend themselves. If nothing has changed then they should be demilitarized.

I believe they call it negotiation. Both sides makes reasoned concessions by taking the others perspective into account. Otherwise it would be called a dictum.
