The guy who was literally our best president by results ever? Yes I want him - his outside the box thinking is what kept us out of wars.

Wow look at all these people tripping over themselves to denounce trump in this thread. Read it again. If it was said it was clearly in jest. What is with everyone being a pussy these days. That’s why republicans don’t win. Y’all have no conviction.

I have no problem being angry when Trump says stupid things. I have no problem calling him out. You made your title as if Trump were serious, when he was musing.

MSN version not paywalled

You took a small part from several people who live, eat, and breath, OMB.

Maggie Haberman and Josh Dawsey are taking the one lined Trump musing retweeting each other bigly.

They are gossiping from an audio heard from the Trump fundraiser.

Even a brief study of her twitter page-she & Josh ignore Biden's complete frick ups and blunders and are hyper-partisan tainted left & OMB.

Maggie Haberman is writing a book that may as well be titled- OMB.

Trump was criticized for 'complimenting' Putin this week. Pence piped in campaigning for the Presidency calling out "Putin apologists."

There was a brief discussion in a thread yesterday that some Trump supporters think Trump is working with Putin to bring down the cabal. Mike Pence loves the fringe talk because he then looks like the reasonable voice in the room. Because he then looks all diplomatic in his canned speech.

Mike Pence refutes Trump in speech condemning Putin ‘apologists’ in GOP, calls for end to ‘relitigating’ 2020 election

So Trump was countering Pence's low blow about favoring Putin.

Trump also spoke of election fraud and Pence hit back.

It was a musing, not an ordered standing foreign policy call. Trump also made a quip about NKorea's generals kissing arse and Trump wishing he had that.

quote:

He espoused praise for North Korea’s brutal leader, marveling at how Kim’s generals and aides “cowered” when the dictator spoke to them. “Total control,” Trump said of how Kim ran the country, describing generals snapping to attention and standing up on command.

“His people were sitting at attention,” he added.

“I looked at my people and said I want my people to act like that,” he said to laughter.

No doubt Trump mused in so many words. But Graham is allowed to call for the assassination of Putin. That is only lighty criticized and never really called dangerous rhetoric. Graham was serious.

Then you have the fringe crowd that read Patel Paytriot as gospel and are horrified Trump said this about Putin. Because their warped theory is Trump & Putin are taking down the worlds' cabal.

You have the prog filth and half nitwits never Trumpers clutching pearls.

Then you have regular people that see it clearly for the musing it was-Knowing damned well Trump says stupid things but this was a musing.

This is why Putin didn’t do shite while Trump was in office…No one on the world stage knew how to take him, and in the face of uncertainty world leaders decided to wait till they could reasonably assume how our leadership would react.

I don’t understand how the masses don’t understand this. Trump’s foreign policy success was because other countries were afraid of his unpredictability.

A lot of Trump’s jokes go right over your head. Not surprising.

Trump is the very reason Biden is the current chief executive, and this kind of off-the-mark utterance is why American Marxism is actually the preferred direction for our republic.

Lol! Biden is president because 81 million Americans are mentally fragile and no more mean tweets was more of a concern than sensible domestic and foreign policies.
Hey at least you’re finally admitting you’re an American Marxist.

Here is the Washington hack quote:
quote:

Trump reiterated some of his frequently repeated falsehoods and petty grievances. “The global warming hoax, it just never ends,” he said. He mocked the concept of sea levels rising, disputing widely held science. “To which I say, great, we have more waterfront property,” he said.
Do you understand what "mocked the concept" means?

Let me clarify what he's mocking.
In Congressional Hearings Jerome Powell is repeatedly asked about FreddieMac/FannieMae jeopardy in 20-30 years when entire swaths of the US coastline and residences are under water d/t AGW-related sea level rise.

AGW catastrophists breathlessly warn that sea level is now rising as much as 0.14 inches per year!
0.14 inches per year!
Lord help us and grab the life preservers!
0.14 inches per year!

Now perhaps those who don't see the humor in Donald Trump's mocking are horribly math-challenged people. But 0.14 inches per year equates to less than an inch and a half per decade. As a person with one of those beach residences, I have to tell you, it would be pretty damn hard to notice a 3-4 inch sea level rise, much less be alarmed by it.

I think this is what that poster TX Tiger or something like that said when Trump was elected. That he's the guy they let us have.

The GOP strategy since losing the 1976 election to Carter is to offer up a candidate that best appeals to the reactionary element of the American populist. We are in the midst of a multi-generational decline due to the end of the Bretton Woods System that allowed the US to peg most world currencies at an exchange rate beneficial to the valuation of the dollar. Every once and awhile the rabble realizes more of them are getting fed to the wood chipper and they get discontented. The election of Trump was the fruit of the bipartisan consensus response to the 2008 economic collapse.

Of course, Trump may have sold himself as something unlike the neoliberal Republican or Democratic parties but he never really governed like it. Much like with Obama, it was clear when you saw the list of cabinet nominees that you were not getting “CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN” but just more Clinton-Blairite third way liberalism. In 2017 it was clear very early on that Trump was not going to “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” but instead was just a new coat of paint over the GOP structure.
