New refrigerant is flammable enough that gas detection systems will be required for any installation the requires said refrigerant. If you you have even a very slow leak, your unit will be deemed/made inoperable until it is fixed.

Pre-1996 car A/C with R12 would freeze your tits off.

frick the O-zone layer. Bring back cold-arse A/C to the masses.

I want R11, 12 and 22 brought back... and If you can start making diesel engines not requiring DEF, I'll buy one again.

Lol you have no idea what you are talking about. You can literally google this in 10secs. Everything built today is far more efficient than 10-20 yrs ago. Cars Laptops TVs Microwaves Washers/Dryer Refrigeration The list goes on and on. If not for regulations we would still have cars getting 5-10mpg but I'm sure there is someone in here that thinks there 1966 chevy is better than modern cars.

Holy Marxist retard no they are not. Efficient in climate change bs ways? Sure.
Do they do what their purpose is better? NO THEY DON’T.

Older fridges and freezers are built like tanks and cool exceptionally well and LAST FOREVER with MAYBE a part change here or there.
Same goes with washers and dryers or dishwashers. Now dishwashers have to run plates twice to get clean because they have to be so called “energy efficient” and use less power and water.
Cars?? Lmao give me the older Chevy Silverado or tundra any day over the newer engines and we’ll see which one runs in ten years still.

TVs and laptops are of course better now. But the otherrs nah. Marxist idiot

Elaborate please. Also provide examples with data to back it up. You can’t except for quick summaries spit out by bureaucrats

This has nothing to do with a political ideology.

Modern refrigeration is more efficient in every way, and that's not up for debate. They are significantly better and energy use, requiring 20% less of the product for the same volume compared to older refrigerants.

If you want to argue that the older refrigerators lasted longer then yes—-but that's a different discussion than what's being presented here.
