You do this enough times, you can then start up your own consulting firm and just rotate between your old companies redoing the same thing over and over again.

Serious question here. Do we have enough qualified people for the jobs? How many engineers or accountants does the US have sitting idle?

STEM grads unemployment rate continues to rise. Those who majored in computer science related areas, especially newer grads, are struggling to find work. It's a bad job market.
We have more than enough qualified workers. I've hired for a couple roles this year and had a lot of qualified applicants.

Thanks for the polite response. I expected to get flamed for the question. Reported unemployment is pretty low. Although the participation rate is troubling.

yeah. my current beef is with indians at rackspace. its been about a week and and a half to get a quote for a firewall and 2 servers. for some reason we had to have two meetings to discuss this. rackspace support used to be so awesome like 10-15 years ago but now is an indian wasteland. I dont even think a white person works there anymore.

I can attest to this. Lived in Los Colinas (Irving) when I first moved to Dallas. They actually have cricket fields there and is known as Little India. Some great Indian restaurants though!

Common corporate strategy.
1. Build proprietary or heavily modded version of off the shelf software systems.
2.Offshore support of those systems to Mumbai.
3. When an onshore need arises, put a requirement for experience for that proprietary system in the requisite.
4. When no candidate applies with experience in your proprietary system, file for an H1B to bring one of the support staff people from Mumbai fill the role at half the cost of the citizen you could have hired and trained in weeks.
5. Vest your shares

Wow, I hope this comes to fruition. Just today, my buddy who is in tech (20 years) texted me that he was laid off.
He said two years ago, they put an Indian over his group of about 30 people, and he said they've just about run every white guy out of their. Replaced with nothing but half retarded indians who have no idea what they are doing.
