Per this reporting, what Trump would offer is the BRIDGE Act, which is a lot different than the Dream Act and wouldn't provide a pathway to citizenship.

Or at least as not as much as they say they do

3 year extension on DACA and restoring the government to normal operations isn't worth 6 billion to you?

I'm MAGA and anti illegal immigrant as frick but this is clearly not a deal the Dems will accept. It is just the initial proposal. Hes trying to facilitate a public negotiation which would be amazing if it works.

Hopefully ends on letting those brats stay (inevitable, really) and true funding for wall

Democrats should say no. Trump needs to keep his promise and make Mexico pay.

The BRIDGE Act (Bar Removal of Individuals who Dream and Grow our Economy) is a bipartisan bill that would provide temporary protection from deportation for three years, as well as work authorization, for these 750,000 young adults, as well as other undocumented youth (DREAMers) brought to America as children.

quote:

The bill provides a one-time “provisional protected presence” to DREAMers eligible for DACA that would provide temporary protection from deportation and an employment authorization document.

The provisional protected presence would last up to three years from the date the bill is enacted.

To qualify for “provisional protected presence,” DREAMers would need to meet the following requirements:
Pay a fee that covers the cost of processing the application;

Register with the government and undergo/pass a criminal background check;

Demonstrate that they are not a threat to public safety;

Establish that they came to the United States at an early age, have continuously lived in the United States since June 15, 2007, and have pursued an education or military service.

Recipients with “provisional protected presence” will lose their reprieve from deportation and employment authorization document if they commit a felony, a significant misdemeanor or any three misdemeanors at different dates.

All they care about is not allowing Trump to fulfill a major campaign promise that he can reference repeteadly leading up to the 2020 election. They have never cared about anything but their own self interests.

It appears this is his approach. Start with something they won’t accept and work toward something they will.

And the optics of Nancy leaving the country is another ding against the left.

But for this approach to work, the left has to want to negotiate. Trump can make offers all day long. Until the left counters, were stuck.

I don’t think this changes anything unfortunately.

They should have to begin the process to become a US citizen, to be completed, or well on their way within the three year period, or sent home.

And the bullshite excuse daca recipients dont have that pathway is just that bullshite. Hell I know illegals who lived in the US, with no protected status, and became US citizens.

Dems will blow on this, they want citizenship for daca, and dapa status for the parents as well, so they can get citizenship at a later date, thats what obama tried to wrangle.

He has to hammer home the point he is trying to protect the wages and jobs of legal hispanics and blacks who suffer most from illegals both financially, and literally as victims of crime and drugs. Go from grabbing to kicking ole stretch pelosi in the crotch.
