Operation Warp Speed and the mobilization to produce ventilators, was indeed a great effort, though not without risks to the gamble. Most of the real screw-ups were due to blue state governors enacting lock-downs, vax requirements even for those of very low risk and assorted dangerous or ridiculous policies like putting covid patients in nursing homes.

DeSantis fell for the Fauci shite early on, but did his own in-depth research on what was known and switched to a more Swedish like policy. Considering that Florida has 21% of its population over 65, Florida did very well. He did what he could to protect the elderly while not worrying about the young and healthy people at low risk.

he let fauci run roughshod over the country.

The moment he started speaking against Fauci, the media stopped covering the COVID task force briefings and started covering Cuomo.

Why did they do that? Was it because he was agreeing with the medical expert or not? Think really hard.

Nope. You did terrible with Covid. By the time you did anything it was too late and you let the most ancient creature in the swamp have control of the crisis.

I'm sorry but I'm a Trump guy and it pisses me off when he's gaslighting us like this. He knows that was a horrible job. It was a failure. Plain and simple. So don't look me in the face and lie to me about it when we both know otherwise.

Awfully strong choice of words. I would say he did "fair" considering the situation.

With the ventilator thing, it was more than that. 3M and other companies were receiving orders for ventilators from US hospitals, then foreign hospitals were offering more money and the corporations chose the money over the order in which the products were placed. They were selling out American hospitals after the government subsidized these companies substantially to ramp up production for national use, and Trump enacted the DPA to end this bad business practice.

He fricked the dog on a LOT of things Corrvid, but he was up against more than any president in this century and doesn't receive enough credit for the things such as above that he did right. If he'd have evoked the DPA earlier, they'd have said "Look at these draconian demands Trump is putting on American businesses... Cant we just trust them to take care of their own country instead of the government forcing them to comply? He's literally Hitler!!". Instead, he waited to evoke the DPA until corporate greed necessitated it, and they said, "He should have done this weeks ago! He had the authority to prevent this! What a buffoon! He caused tens of thousands of deaths!!! He's literally Hitler!"

I think we too easily forget what all Trump was up against, and that they always painted him into a corner no matter what he did. There was always a predetermined narrative to make him look as poorly as possible in the headlines. No other leader would have handled the onslaught even half as well as Trump did. He absorbed the abuse like no other president in history and just kept chugging right along.

Trump did a lot of great things but I disagree with him that Covid was one of them.

I really want Pence to be asked if he, as the head of the covid response, ever thought Fauci/Birx were being nefarious. If so, did he tell Trump and how did that go. If not, why not.

Covid is definitely Trumps biggest failure, he got played, needs to own it… Still better than any Democrat that could possibly run, and I will crawl over glass to vote for him, but he trusted the wrong people, and got played, no doubt!

Exactly. I don't think anyone has a problem with how Trump handled COVID in the moment (aside from not firing or demoting the swamp creature Fauci).

It's his refusal to admit that he made mistakes and could've done so much better currently, in 2023, that is the problem. You have Trump that is still touting everything he did as great, YUGE, wonderful, the best, etc. instead of being real and admitting he made mistakes that he learned from and would never repeat again.

It's this refusal to admit he messed up in several ways that turns people off and makes them wonder if he'd do the same thing all over again if it happens again. THAT is why he is criticized and has given room to his doubters, whereas if he owned it and said "yeah I screwed up, but I learned a lot of important lessons I'll never repeat again" the issue would be dead.

He needs a lesson in owning his mistakes and admitting he isn't infallible, because when you do that you take away the ability for those doubters to attack you over your history

Do you have a view into the parallel universe where there was an undeniable better alternative? Because otherwise, as far as any of us know, what Trump did was the best job possible.

Judging by your post history, a good bit of your posts are temper tantrums calling Trump fat. I think you have some sort of underlying sexual fetish for orange, elderly and obese men lying somewhere in your subconscious.

There were plenty of doctors working on other treatments, including Ivermectin. They were working on treatments for Covid viruses before the pandemic so this is not hindsight. He could have held conferences and listened to many viewpoints. I would bet anyone that he didn’t read a single scientific paper during the entirety of 2020. His narcissism allows him to assume he already knows something or that he can read two sentences about a subject and then know more about that subject than anyone else. He could have been such a better leader than he was. I don’t know if he should have fired Fauci but he could have managed him better and got more doctors involved. He could have forced Fauci to have the debates in a public forum that we were all having in private at the time.

Also, we should all be able to agree that big pharma protection from liability for their vaccines was a mistake.
