Trump made clear in his tweet that he things negative press is fake news. He equated the term negative with fake. The man is both lacking in integrity and clueless.

If you study the press as it existed in the 1780s and 1790s, the press the Founding Fathers wanted to protect in the First Amendment, it was highly partisan and full of political gossip. All you originalists out there need to be DEFENDING the partisan and subjective press because that what the FF's were doing.

That would be a mistake. Try to silence a man and you are only telling the world you fear what he might say. Just sets a bad precedent.

How does 91 percent negative press not make it fake news?

Is the news coverage representative of reality with 91 percent negative coverage?

If it's not representative of reality isn't it fake?

He wouldn't do it, but the very mention of it puts it into the press and makes people wonder "why is he saying that?". He consistently wipes the floor with them. The only ones listening to their propaganda are the ones dead-set and "resisting". His approval rating is way up, the economy is booming, record tax receipts are on the books, and people have more money in their bank accounts. The Democrats are going to get slaughtered yet again. Maybe they'll triple down the next go around.

I support their right to report how they see fit. But again for you people that seem to have a hard time grasping this. There is no right to a press credential. If there was press conferences would have to be held in Tiger stadium

They don't understand that thousands of media outlets are currently being excluded. Just the fact that a credential is required, assures exclusion.

So, of the excluded outlets, which one is causing a threat to freedom of the press, or signifies that Trump is a dictator?

It's 2018. The reality is that Trump could announce tomorrow that no longer will press passes be permanent. He could simply an ounce that he will take everyone currently in the Press pool and add about 300 more Outlets spread between radio print and television. Then press access could be determined randomly and for those that can't make the trip to DC they can ask their questions via teleconference.

Personally I think that would yield better press conferences long after Trump is gone and it wouldn't Shield Trump from negative questions at the same time.

The press should not be adversarial just the sake of being adversarial. It should strive for objectivity.

Sadly, today's press allows personal feelings dictate coverage, and that is a problem.

Where was this adversarial press during Obama's administration?

How about they fact check stories run by the correspondents and, if they run inaccurate ones, pull the credentials and give to someone else at the same news outlet?

Not denying freedom of the press then.

So you just want to go back to a time when Democrats enslaved, whipped, and lynched people of color. Good to know what a racist bigot you are. I had my suspicions, but damn, you’re brazen.

Put CNN in the back. They have no more right to a front row seat than the Daily Reveille.

The seating is determined by a council of the Press themselves. That way there is no issue of political favoritism involved in who sits where.

WH merely provides the space and the access, the Press is left to govern themselves. So, yank the access to the liars.

Could tell which ones were offended by the thought today, the usual lying manipulating twisting thug media..NBC, CBS, CNN. They were pissing and moaning in today's presser.

Well, we currently have WH press corps members like April Ryan making up scenarios about the White House Press Secretary saying, ‘You don’t know me,” when in fact she said, “With all due respect, you don't know how I feel."

Not sure what else they can do at this point?

The lies are out of control.

You don't have a constitutional right to a press credential.

They already exclude thousands of media outlets from White House press credentials. There is no right for a specific media outlet to get a credential.

If he canceled one outlet, and gives that pass to an outlet that did not have access, then there is no net change in media coverage.

He should cancel CNN and give it to some small town newspaper.
And eventually all of the press asking questions would be those perceived as friendly to the administration, such that press conferences would look like his Dear Leader cabinet meetings and with nothing but “We love you, sir” softball questions.

Yep, that would be GREAT for democracy.
