ABA is a private operation and membership is voluntary so I'm not seeing some big gotcha. Schools are free to belong or not belong currently. What if they all chose to belong?

Lawyers lean left because they see first hand that the law belongs to everyone, not just elites.
Elites don’t like this because it threatens them.

ABA is the only nationally recognized accrediting body. This means that only law schools approved by ABA can have graduates allowed to take the bar exam in any U.S. jurisdiction.
There are other accrediting bodies, but they are jurisdiction specific, meaning after you graduate, you are only allowed to take bar exam in that particular jurisdiction.

Exactly right. Worrying about accreditation is something for the local Bars to determine, not the federal.
I mean if DOJ doesn't want to admit people who went to an ABA accredited school maybe you get an affect later on, but if the states would still require it, then this is just overused ink on surplus paper.
