A liberal friend of mine cited this. Is there any merit to this? I looked it up and said he had to pay 2 million back. Seems to not be a good look for him. However, i feel like we aren’t getting the whole story because CNN would never stop airing this. What’s the truth about this?

My guess is that this is about foreign aid going to actual items for countries like Ukraine rather than being sent to Non Government Organizations to be funneled to various people.

People act as if Trump somehow has the time to run the country in addition to all his businesses and foundations. If your friend believes Trump was going to the bank to make withdrawals against his charity, he is a ruhtard.

Someone running the place was skimming, most likely, and Trump is left holding the bag because he owns the business.

Media spin tells it as if he's dressed up like the fricking Hamburglar sneaking in to steal money from babies to pay off hookers.

Trump's Charity was set up by Trump and almost fully funded by Trump.

He spent a lot of the money on large portraits of himself and shite like that. Scumbag things to do of course.

Lets contrast that with a real Charity like say the Clinton Foundation.

The Clinton foundation took in over 500 Million of donations.

It donated around 2 million to charitable causes.
It has now closed its doors because it is broke.
99cents on a dollar went to administrative expenses.
100% correctly run charity with no scumbags involved!

After what the IC/press has done to Trump I don't care if he breaks every law in the book. Kick small dogs, put children in cages for life. Set up camps for the left. IDGAF

That’s not what happened

During the 2016 election, trump held a charity event for veterans. All money raised went to the veterans

The NY AG determined that the fundraiser itself was a misuse of foundation funds because it was used to “bolster trump’s image as a candidate”

It’s become an annual event. The Veteran Throw.

Last year’s winner set a new record. Threw a veteran 12 feet.

100% true. There was a Reuter’s article that actually told the truth about it at the time. Of all the vile democrat smears this one has to be one of the worst.

This is somewhat similar to I heard. He held a charity event kinda with his campaign. All money was donated. The NY ag went after him for campaign violation and got him fined for campaign violations.

No, Trump's campaign manager idiotically mixed a fundraiser pot of money with a campaign pot of money...

So he paid the people he fundraised for like $2.5m...
Then the State of New York went after him later and fined him another $2m

The numbers may be a touch off, but that's how it went...

The fundraiser was in Des Moines Iowa, but NY thought that since advertising for Trump him, they could crush his balls...

You can't mix the pots of money due to campaign finance laws

Also they got him for not having proper board meetings or some shite... which is obviously dumb because it was his personal charity.
