Many rich people have charities which they use as a tax right off.
They donate millions and then get a huge tax right off. But they load up the major positions of the charities with their relatives with large salaries.

There was the charity golf tournament a “hole in one” won a million and some dude hit one. Ended up having to sue Trumps charity to get paid. Think it settled for $200 k.

3 things. 1). The Trump foundation was funded almost exclusively by trump. So any tax advantage he gained from it would have been because he funded it. So, at most, any monies spent would have been from him. So if he bought a picture of himself for 200k. That 200k would have been donated from him.
2) a private foundation, like trumps would have limited his deduction to 30% of his AGI. Meaning Trump could only deduct up to 30% if his AGI.
3). From what I understand. The trump foundation got pinged for what they called “commingling” his foundation funds with election funds.
So...it’s a whole lot of nothing.

A family member is working for Petey. Retired GW poli sci prof filled with hate recently posted a quote from the 2 year old article from Forbes. Everything the Forbes writer posts is Trump smear 101. So much $$ flows through these charities it’s mind boggling to little peeps like me. Check their IRS Form 990 & see where the dough goes.
