I honestly am enjoying life with a D-controlled House now more than the R-controlled one of the past 2 years.

I think you underestimate the impact of the visual of the President making the SOTU speech from the Oval Office or some place other than the House. The Senate will be the best alternative but even that’s a small time event space comparatively.

Oh yeah? You got some history to back this up with, or are you making things up?

Call it what you want, but there are sh!t ton of Americans with half a damn brain that can agree with this decision by President Trump. Keep all of your elected asses in Washington until you resolve the problem of border security, seems pretty fricking simple to me instead of gallivanting across the globe to escape the pressure cooker. And I’m sure those with half a brain can figure out why she wants to cancel the SOTU as well. Trump actually looks like the grown up in the room with this decision. Keep holding them accountable until they do their fricking job.

How hard would it be for any of you to prioritize to your agenda as an elected federal official to see what needs to be done on behalf of the county? Traveling abroad would be about 999,999,999 on my list right now.

I would pay $100 for a ticket to have seen the response from the entire delegation on the bus when told their plans had changed.

All of the worthless aides and swampy support personnel who were packed and making plans for their leisure time in Egypt. So excited to go see the Pyramids and other antiquities. The fine restaurants they had on the list. LOL! The bus full of swampers got punked!! LOL!

That shite is funny as hell....

I don’t agree with a lot of the stuff Trump does, but he just bitch slapped her.

Just went to the 2 most liberal sites that I visit. Shocker, only 1 mention of this letter and it was met with a lot of doubt and derisiveness.

All the proof of WINNING that I need

I can’t believe her dumb arse was headed on an international tour on our dime while people in the US are missing paychecks because of the shutdown. She botched this week big time.

Well there’s no history of the POTUS making the SOTU anywhere else in anyone’s lifetimes. If don’t you think Trump doing it someplace else won’t have an impact I don’t know what to tell you. It’s an open question as to how significant that impact will be, but it will certainly have some impact and it won’t be a positive one.

Then don't tell us anything. You're wrong.

Trump will use the location of his speech to crucify the Dems for being the hypocrites they are.

Yeah I think Pelosi made a major misstep kicking the SOTU out of the House. I thought Trump should have immediately responded that he wouldn’t go where he wasn’t wanted but he still had an address to give. It’s a terrible look for the Dems.

First, I agree that the letter is entertaining.

Second, I agree with the underlying message of the letter, to the extent that no one in government should be expanding funds unnecessarily at this time.

Third, however, I wonder what authority Trump thinks he has to control the budget of the legislative branch. I suspect that he has zero such authority, and that his advisers have told him as much. As such, the letter is pure trolling and childish (despite being entertaining).

So it won’t actually be a State of The Union, it will be a campaign rally from a border town in Texas

He, as the Commander-in-Chief, is saying she will not be granted military travel considerations. Well within his scope as the head a-hole in charge of the military of the world's most powerful nation.

If you're furloughed you should be pissed at congress. And if your Congressman is jetting of to the middle east instead of fighting for your pay, you should be beyond furious.
