the state of CA refuses to verify who is a citizen and who is not in their state. they even use this fact against the federal government. there may be 10 million non citizens living in CA.

why should the federal government give 1 cent to non citizens in CA?

this is not about coercion on policy disputes. this is about not giving federal dollars to non citizens. Trump stated this.

The new rules of the game. When we have a democratic president, no aid to states with republicans governors.

Oh well. That’s what republicans want.

The democrat presidential candidates will have to run specifically on reversing specific EOs

Do you really think you want that?

This election showed that they do not win when they cannot cheat. If CA had voter ID the Republicans would have 10 more seats there in the House.

Hilarious seeing this from a board that is ostensibly filled with “small government” and federalism-minded individuals.

If the federal government can coerce California to bend the knee on unrelated political issues by withholding disaster funding, a future federal government can do the same to Louisiana, etc. That isn’t good for anyone.

Ok what’s the problem?
Trump won’t be president forever. And DC runs on revenge. Imagine after Katrina, Bush said “screw’em, too many democrats there” and left NOLA without any federal response.

Ultimately the purpose of federal disaster funds isn’t to influence state election policy. Nothing good comes from federal
coercion—even whey your “team” does it

What federal laws are being broken by Republican governors?

Edit: I’ve got a downvote, but no answer to the question.

Not that I disagree. I do agree. But if we take this stance, the next Dim administration will take this stance against pro 2a states. Or anti-abortion states. Or anti-trans states.

Speed limits, issuing state marriage licenses, seatbelt laws, DUI laws, it’s been done already.

We have SCOTUS president for Roe and 2A now and they already did this with dudes LARPing as female. I say do this for all “sanctuary” cities and states. No federal funds for non compliant states with sanctuary cities. None for sanctuary cities. If they believe in the cause enough to pay for it themselves then so be it.
