A supermajority of Americans were against the kneeling. It's called good politics. And based on the NFL's response, I think your side lost this one.

If that red herring is the best response you can muster up to my point, that should be telling for you.

Yes, I knew exactly who you were referring to.

All I had said in the beginning was it would be entertaining because Trump and LaVar are on the same level.

But because you didn't know that LaVar was the father, you
went off on a rant about how I was a f...king idiot.

You're the one who got it wrong to start with, and now you somehow want it to be my fault?

it is true the guy is a massive pile of shite. I for one would love to watch him implode under the POTUS Twitter. He broke the NFL, he broke CNN, he broke liberals I know with great intellect and education, he will break Lavar Ball

You mean like Obama with Otto Warmbier? Or that Marine in Mexico?

Keep making an arse of yourself, though.

Yep people don't give a shite about that marine left by Obama. People have such short memories.

F it. I agree 100% with Trump. Call out the dad for the idiot he is. Trump is met with negativity after pulling strings to get his son and others out of jail in China.

F remaining silent. Call it like it is. Ball is an ungrateful bastard and that is the honest truth.

Hopefully his son will make a statement contridicting his fathers comments. I would hate to think all of the BB players are unappreciative.

You're the one arguing that opposition to kneeling is an example of racism. I pointed out that if is odd that a racist effort is supported by 60% of Americans, many of whom dislike trump.

Dude.... opposition to kneeling is not based in racism. Do some people oppose it because of racism. Sure, but there are many reasons to find the practice distasteful and inappropriate.

This one is easy. Lavar Ball is being an ungrateful arse. His son was locked up in a Chinese prison

His son was in a 5 star Hyatt Regency. No need to exaggerate/ like. I'm sure Chinese Officials wanted these guys out of the Country as much as they wanted to leave.

No, I said Trump's own opposition to kneeling is one amongst many examples I listed of Trump's strategy of fanning the flames of his brand of white identity politics and racial resentment. No one is challenging that there weren't plenty of people that were opposed for their own reasons, I personally didn't find it to be a very strong strategy compared to obvious alternatives, or that the collective whole of that dissent would not constitute a majority. As your red herring tried to pivot us to. Such is the nature of dog whistles, of which we have had that conversation before when we discussed the Southern Strategy. Sure, plenty of people philosophically don't believe in a social safety net, and they don't see welfare queen ads of the 80's as stoking racial resentment but instead speaking to their belief in economic darwinism. That doesn't make those ads not a part of a white identity politics strategy though, that is at least in part purposefully aimed to dog whistle to racists.

But after yet another goal post moving by you, I have to question how you are genuinely shocked that people like me are no longer interested in trying to engage in deeper discussions around here? You waste all that time articulating a point only for someone like yourself to intentionally or unintentionally misrepresent that point with a shifting portfolio of disingenuous tactics.

Gullible is spending your waking days cheering on a crony narcissistic snake oil salesman under the pretense he is anything but.

By bailing out a couple of shop lifting black kids in China? That's a way to express racial resentment that I've never seen before.

The double move, it's akin to saying I have black friends.
