Trump says he "should have left UCLA players in jail"

Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!
This is going to be entertaining
ETA Lavar's quote: LINK
quote:
Trump, while on a trip to Asia, reportedly made a personal plea to President Xi Jinping for the Chinese government to get involved in the case, which included LaVar's son LiAngelo, Rich Hill, and Cody Riley. LaVar, however, minimized Trump's role to ESPN's Arash Markazi. "Who?" Ball said of Trump's involvement. "What was he over there for? Don't tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out."

This could cost Trump the 4 black votes in 16........

LaVar Ball is a confirmed idiot. Donald would do well not to engage this fool.

What did Mr. Ball say? That's kind of pertinent to the conversation.

Trump trying to make lavar ball a martyr so he'll run for dem nomination in 2020 and win primary

That Trump didn’t help get them out.

So Ball is fricking it up for the next round of bros that get busted in a foreign country? Par for the course.

LaVar Ball, the father of one of those players, suggested the President had little to do with the matter. "Who?" Ball told ESPN when asked about Trump's involvement in the situation. "What was he over there for? Don't tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out."
LaVar Ball told ESPN he was happy to have his son back, and also seemed to downplay his alleged crime. "As long as my boy's back here, I'm fine," he said. "I'm happy with how things were handled. A lot of people like to say a lot of things that they thought happened over there. Like I told him, 'They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes.' I'm from L.A. I've seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses."

This type of attitude is why this likely won't be LiAngelo's last offense.

Lavar took a knee on Trump's arse

I bow to nobody in my Trump Derangement Syndrome but I refuse to take sides here

Culture..
Take no responsibility for ones actions, downplay it, then blame someone else.
Nothing improves until this is forced to change. He should have been forced to reap what he had sown.
ETA: Trump is an idiot for addressing this after the fact. He's way too thin skinned. Just let it slide and allow the other side to make a fool of themselves.

He should have. Trump tried to do the right thing but no good deed goes unpunished.

This one is easy. Lavar Ball is being an ungrateful arse. His son was locked up in a Chinese prison and the president of the united states helped to get him out.
Just say thank you.
Just say thank you.

I should have left them in jail!

This, and I am a big never Trumper. I would have liked the UCLA players to have been left in jail for a week or two, then let out with Trump getting credit for their release.

Trump's biggest mistake was getting them out right away. He should have let them sit for a few months and waited for lavar to beg.
