Since I can't private message you, I'll just post this here, and without comment.
Listen to this:

Whether you agree, or disagree, it is well worth the listen, and explains why some informed Trump voters and supported are not concerned with tariffs, since they aren't going to be permanent.
What I'd be surprised if you disagree with it, are the arguments about supply change, and capital rushing out of China.
I said informed Trump voters/supports. There are as many Trump supporter that don't understand this policy position, or are even aware of it, as other voters.
This said, this isn't exactly the current policy, but with respct to tariffs, it is awfully close. Especially about what the end game is.

Gnome, you know you are hated on several boards. Maybe that is your thing though.
Next time why not go with the title from the article, it weakens your point when you change it for agenda reasons.

I think it made a fantastic point actually.

a tariff cannot strictly counteract a foreign tariff.
How incredibly interesting.
Suffice it to say, you're apparently not a chess player, not a follower of military strategy, not a much of a follower of sports, nor do you understand trade strategy.

if it's just a rehashing of muh deals or something similar i'll be disappointed

if by that you mean "supply chains", i'll be paying attention there. you don't need permanent tariffs to do long-term and costly damage to our supply chains

It didn't, as was clearly pointed out to you.
But it was click bait.

Surprisingly objective. The network is often left leaning, but some of their business stuff, which necessarily gets into geopolitical type conversations, are surprising in their impartiality, and somewhat "equal" time for both sides.

^that's just sad
is that what i said, or did i say something much more specific, in response to your very specific claim about tariffs counteracting other tariffs?

it did
what was most clearly pointed out was how irritated calling it a tax increase, which it is, made many of y'all

That is the troll talking and not the adult talking.
You posted an article, that nobody read. It was not read because you changed the title on purpose to troll and engage negatively with other posters.
There were merits to be discussed, but that never really materialized.
It was just a trap and in the end it looks much worse for you than everyone else.
If you feel the need to do this to compensate for something in your life, there are better paths than changing the wording of an article. Both sides, left and right, provide ample troll level material.

Yet you have not the least clue as to what any of that means in terms of this post.
Just as readers had no idea as to the OPs meaning until they realized they'd been misled.

an attempt to draw equivalence along the lines of tariff : tax :: tariff : attack?
i see material differences between "tariff" and "attack", and between "counterattack" & "counteract"

As irritated as you are that the title now says tariff, which it is, and provides more clarity.

that's what happens in a safe space. if the fact that that's what this place is bothered me, i'd be long gone

My point is nobody is irritated. That's just the straw man you're pummeling long after you killed it. The original title was unclear and factually wrong. Now it's clear and factually right.
Or did Trump say tax and not tariff?
