Not a dig on Trump, just the fact that weeks after this started....thats all we are capable of.
This country could build b24 bombers every 45 minutes during the war, now it takes us weeks to make a few trailer loads of masks.
We have to bring manufacturing back the US. We have traded being the world's dominant manufacturing base for millions whose best skills are typing with their thumbs.

This is the silver lining in this ordeal, but it won't be done overnight.

We've spent 40 years outsourcing production to the third world and are paying the price.
There's nothing quite as expensive as free trade.

I thought he was talking about what’s happen in the last 24 hours when he made those comments

Doesn't a single box contain 3000 or so? Besides, this is supposed to supplement what the local hospitals and state are purchasing on their own.
Not sure where people think the U.S. government can purhase masks that states/hospitals already have access to. Do some of you think the U.S. government has a manufacturing branch that makes masks??
He already pushed and got the FDA to approve the sale of masks by 3M. That added 30 million... 30,000,000 ... to the monthly supply chain.

Kind of tells me how much government regulations have entered into our lives over the years. The only inspection a bomber had to pass was that it could get off the ground but yet a mask has to meet numerous inspections before it can be certified to be manufactured.

That was at the height of everything being changed. We could do the same today, but there are regulations, lawsuits and liabilities to worry about. Also, That is over 1.5M masks to NY and 750,000 to Wash State.... WTF you want sent there right now?
Headline if he sent 5M masks today: Trump overwhelms hospitals with shipments, causing workers to unload and open packages, and also takes up storage space that could be used to treat patients

Good point homesick, Trump even touched on removing the red tape so industrial masks could be used in hospitals.
Fellas forget where they come from or whether the fed govt should be supplying, my point is they need them from somewhere and the best we can come up with is a handful of trailer loads. 50 years ago DeBlasio would not be heard from because NYC would be 3 feet deep in masks and respirators.
This is the silver lining, we need manufacturing back in the US...for everything.

Quit your job and go work in a factory making medical supplies. Give up every basic convenience in your life and give what you have to the government. Buy bonds to support the government.
That's what that generation did. How much are YOU willing to sacrifice? That generation gave up everything for the country.

76 pallets.
Do you know how many boxes of masks can fit on a pallet? Do you know how many masks can fit in a box?
C'mon, it's like a word problem. If a train leaves Philadelphia at 10am and a plane leaves Los Angeles at 5pm what time will you figure out that the media is hyping Wuhan Virus to scare everyone into not taking planes and trains?
