Political points with whom, exactly? All the people in attendance who are already voting for him? Or all the "undecideds" that won't hear anything about this because the media won't report it?
It's a stretch, I know, but perhaps Trump is merely wanting to honor the memory of a man that died during the assassination attempt since, you know, the family of the deceased will be in attendance.
