Pardons don't look good to most Americans because we as a country love mass incarceration and the idea that the longer the prison sentence, the better.

Blagojevich's sentence was commuted, not absolved. Blagojevich served over half of the sentence, and Trump thought the sentence was excessive and the Prosecutor Fitzgerald is big buds with Comey. It's more of a finger in the eye to that Justice Department crowd.

POTUS says that he pardoned Bernie Kerik. Kerik was former NY City Police Commissioner. He pleaded guilty to two ethics violations and admitted taking a $250,000 interest free loan from an Israeli Billionaire and failed to report it.
