Indeed. I would just call it Socialism.
Its definitely a large part of it.
Ive come around on y'alls H1B pleas and realize there isnt anyone in power that will help you though.
This is how people like AOC will capitalize.

The fact that we can't afford the home we WANT in the location we WANT does not mean we can't afford a home. It just means we can't afford the home we WANT.
Then please explain how young people can’t afford homes.

every thread that touches on this issue turns into old people saying go be a welder in Kansas or something. It’s retarded.
Young people want to whine that they buy the house they want in the location they want. When I was whining about not having something my father would say "Tough. Want in one hand and shite in the other. See which one get's full faster." He'd say "Life's Hard". I didn't like hearing it, but you know what the old fart was right.

This is the most boomer take in the history of boomer.

Well.. if someone owns an investment condo at the beach - When they go to sell the condo then they would lose their arse on their investment. I think that is what he is trying to imply here

Yessir, I do think we've already established "too big to fail" will be perpetually subsidized

This is exactly why we elected businessmen. Because we have been listening to lawyers for decades while they destroyed the economy. Stay in your lane.

There is nothing in that clip that’s remotely controversial.
Trying to spin housing prices going down from an artificial-bubble peak being bad, is retarded.

Bad economic choices have those sorts of consequences.
There is a term for an economic system that wants to subsidize the consequences of bad economic decisions. It rhymes with kocialism.

Of course his interest is protecting investors.
He took a stance on an issue that was the antithesis to populism and you still didn't like it. Go figure...

The frick?
Trump's stance is pure populism in its most socialist form

quote:Yet you didn't argue the numbers I presented. My first job was minimum wage, 3.35. After taxes I received about 2.20 for an hour's work. Gas was about $1 at the time. One hours work would buy me 2.2 gallons of gas. A couple weekends ago my wife and I were at the same McDonalds (new building but same location). Sing on the door said help wanted starting at $15 an hour. After taxes, a highschooler would have $10 for an hour of work and this morning I bought gas at $2.48. That would be 4 gallons. A 90% improvement over my situation in highschool.
Damn. I remember him now (within this context)

And if you think that reducing housing prices is a good idea, how many people between 25 & 55 are going to be upside down in their existing mortgages when their 400K home is suddenly worth 300K?
Not all that many relatives to the market in general. The majority (or close to it) of homeowners own their homes outright. According to gov data the average US LTV is about 44%.
I bought my house two years ago and if it lost 25% of its value tomorrow I would still be above water.
The vast majority of homeowners with a mortgage are barely paying any interest so they’ve been building equity for awhile.
